The Lyrics

This is the other parody that I wrote last night using Carole King's "I Feel The Earth Move". While the other deals in the Occult and Black Arts this one resides squarely in the more mundane hell of everyday relationships...
My wife was terse, said "Up on your feet
The grass is high; go mow it now, go mow it down"
Her mood was not very friendly
It's really surly now

"You're lazy; you are a disgrace"
Yells at me most every day
Well, dammit, I can't stand it
Wish that she would just go away

She's getting worse; said, "get off your seat"
I can't reply; don't make a sound, I wear a frown
Her constant drone is unending
Treats me just like a hound

"Oh, Darling" I said wearily
"To what end do you call my name?
I don't have any notion
why I'm always the one to blame
what the hell is with you, lady?
(Uh-ah-ah, uh-ah-ah, yeah-hah)

And then she cursed, "Don't talk back to me.
Don't you get wise, you stupid clown; I'll come unwound"
Then from her purse; a revolver
I knew then the deal was down
She just lost control
I took a bullet-hole
Prayed for my mortal soul; my life's over
(it's over, it's over, it's over)
I'm in the hearse, ooh, guess I'm dead meat
I see the lid, it's closing down
lid's closing down, it's closing down
lid's closing down, it's coming down...
(repeat to fade)

JD, Melhi & Rod W. - Thanks, glad you all liked my little 'slice' of domestic life (fortunately, not mine - hopefully not yours). Adagio, I think it's ok to say as long as none of it is going on in your story-line.
