Parody Song Title:

"Glasses Have Broken"

Parody Written by:

Adagio

The Lyrics

Glasses have broken, now I'm in mourning
Since they are gone now, can't see a word.
I have been clinging. Thanks for the warning!
To all the walls so I won't be hurled.

Fuzzy it is all, is the floor even?
If not I do fall, upon my ass.
Haze shows my neatness that I thought house in
Blurry it just was but I can pass.

Now I see sunlight, now I see morning
I got new glasses, but I will pay.
What the damnation? I will be cleaning,
My recreation, I mop all day.

Since I'm a man, I don't have the cones and rods that detect dirt, glasses or not. Wait till bifocals come along, I'm nearly there.
Adagio - March 07, 2004 - Report this comment
Thanks, Rick! That has got to be the wildest story about not detecting dirt. Hmm...maybe there's some truth to it.

I always say if you cain't see it then it tain't there. Fine parody, Pat. 5s.

Adagio - I can see! I can Vote! I can give you three 5's! Rick D - Last eye exam I had the guy says "You may need bifocals soon" I squinted at him and said "Do ya' really think so?" It'll never happen, it would drive me NUTS! Maybe separate reading glasses to go with my distance (for driving) but not in the same ball of wax.

This is great! So true! A few years ago, before I gave in and got a pair of reading glasses, I was carrying around a magnifying glass for maps and the phone book and saying "See, I still don't need any help!"

I'm blind as a bat without mine...20/400 vision. I can relate!! 555

Thanks all of you! PW...I think my eyesight is about the same.

Paul, I too have poor eyesight - all my life I guess. Seems to be getting worse with age. I have learned to compensate for a lot of things and get by. I too can really relate to Pat's parody. Don't you think this was a really clever parody? My motto, out of sight, out of mind.

So, we strain our poor eyes sitting here late into the night typing out parodies.

Ooops, should've seen this one earlier! 555, Adagio, good job.

Hehe, thanks Johnny!

Adagio, thought I'd revisit this one and SEE what other comments came up. I've been saying for years that I only need glasses for distance, but that "distance" has now become anything over about a foot-and-a-half...I think it more like maybe 12 inches now...(squint).
alvin rhodes - March 07, 2004 - Report this comment
funny, even without my glasses 5s

I can see myself giving you 5-5-5.

Thanks alvin and Jan.

I never put my glasses on to vaccum - it takes twice a long when I do that! ;-D
Adagio - March 09, 2004 - Report this comment
Thanks, Mer! :D

Adagio, stumbled over here looking for something else. Looks like I stumbled to the right place - a parody about stumbling around because you can't see. Hmmm...since that last time I commented on this one I notice that "distance" for me is anything over about NINE inches. Maybe my eyes are just tired....yeah, right...this one was fun...
Adagio - June 18, 2004 - Report this comment
Yeah, Paul, just like my eyes being "tired" in the morning. :D
