Hey Michael, if I gave you ones every time I had disagreed politically with your viewpoint, your overall score would go way down. I think Reagan is doing just fine where he is. If anything, he is asking Harry why the hell he messed up so badly on the MacArthur issue. Look, I don't mind an honest criticism, like Billy Florio giving me a low score in "funny" for "What Was It Worth?" And I don't even care if I hit by the dreaded "ones guy." But please explain how you could even think of giving me a two in pacing? Your class factor just went way down, Michael. Try not to let your politics influence your voting. (That may be the strangest thing I have ever said! But you know what I mean! - lol) If you wanna debate politics, take it to a debate club, or at least have the courtesy to abstain from voting. I could care less about the low score; This wasn't intended to be top ten material. But that rationale was immature at best.

Stray, I agree with you. I got ones on my anti-abortion song, even though the pacing was perfect. But here's another issue. Why do people give 5 for funny on purely political songs? They just give the news in rhyme, or their own distorted version, and I usually don't find that completely funny. In your song, you gave a well deserved tribute to Ronald Reagan. 5 people seemed to think it was hilarious. I just don't get it. Anyways, DKTOS, so can't vote. I don't know much about Reagan, being only 13 years old, but I do know that instead of negotiating with the Soviet Union (which is pretty pointless), he threatened them with nuclear weapons. I know many liberals would think that is wrong, but godsakes, what are you supposed to DO with a group of communists that wish to take over the world? It's refreshing to see parodies like this, as a break from all the liberal propaganda.

I'll forgive the Yogi-ism of keeping politics out of voting -- there's a five on "How Funny" -- but Truman was right to fire MacArthur. The thing that has kept us free for over 200 years is not guns and not missiles, but civilian control of the military (and the intelligence agencies), and MacArthur thought he was above Truman, and he wasn't. When the Pentagon/CIA tail wags the Presidential dog, disaster results: Iran '53, Guatemala '54, Vietnam from '54 and especially from '65 on (yes, Democrats have blown it in this regard, too), Cambodia '70, El Salvador in the early Eighties, Africa and South America in the Seventies and Eighties, and let's not forget sending weapons to Iran AND Iraq AND Afghanistan in the Eighties. Ayatollah Khomeini, Saddam Hussein, Mullah Omar and Osama bin Laden all had reason to say, "Thank God that Ronald Reagan was President of the United States." Moral of the story: Calling it "anti-Communist" isn't enough to make it worthy of American support. And YWN, you ain't seen liberal propaganda yet -- but it's comin'. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

YWN, the reason that folks give 5's on "unfunny" songs is because there is no way of expressing approval for songs like this one - and few want to give a low grade for an otherwise good piece of work. A lot of my stuff is political and sometimes just serious reflection. Nobody ('cept Michael, darn it!) wants to penalize me for being reflective so they give "all fives" even if the song isn't funny. The really funny stuff I put up here I hope to get good votes on. The serious stuff is just my way of expressing myself. By and large, people on this site (Michael included) are kind in such circumstances. Thanks again for the comments!

I thought this was a wonderful tribute Pooch! And you picked a great song to do it with too. I didn't care for Reagan or his politics when he was president, but I admire his honesty and integrity. He was a man who truly loved his country and gave it the best he could give. We are watching the passing of a generation the likes of which will never be seen again, and I think America (and the world) will be poorer for the loss.

Ok, Mike, why exactly would those particular bad guys be glad Reagan was president? And don't go off into something vague as most liberals I meet do. And yes, I know, liberal propaganda is everywhere. But do democrats actually believe in their own propaganda? Everyone else can see right through it. My question is, what gain do you get when you (not saying that you agree with all of them) tell such vicious lies? Dubya putting arson in our water? Bush Sr. connected with Bin Laden family? That's pathetic.
