Song Parodies -> "Wretching Anew"

Original Song Title:

"Precious and Few"

Original Performer:

Climax

Parody Song Title:

"Wretching Anew"

Parody Written by:

Rick Cormier

The Lyrics

Wretching anew
Every second this tune gets air
Migraines ensue
"Yikes!", I cry. It's dung covered doo
Like fingernails grinding down blackboards
Makes me pull out my hair
Wretching anew
Every second this tune gets air

Babies construe better lines
This lyric's so lame
Hearing it, I hit the ceiling
I just go insane
And if they play it just one more time
I'll go postal, I swear
I'm wretching anew
Every second this tune gets air

(instrumental provides momentary relief from nauseating lyric and vocal)

And if I find out who wrote this song
They'll be murdered, I swear
I'm wretching anew
Every second this tune gets air

(Yet another chorus)

Wretching anew
Every second this tune getsay-ay-ay-ay-air
My, this band blew!
Hope they've died, they're long overdueooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
I'll bet the genius who wrote this song
Couldn't comb his own hair
I'm wretching anew
Every second this tune gets air

Oh come on, how could you not like a song by a group called "Climb Axe", a tool used for reaching the top and then controlling the descent into one-hit-wonder-oblivion? ;-)

Guess I'm lucky, not knowing th OS, but your pacing is always spot on, so 5's for the "dung covered doo" line alone....cracked me up.

Don't hold back, how do you really feel about Precious & Few? Top notch writing on this.

Psst... try the "channel up/down", "mute", or "off" buttons... but then, what would we do for parody material?... Good job. 555

"go postal" is a first for me, Rick - but I love parodies that turn back on the OS! - 555

Thank you, AFW, Dee, Rex, TT, Stu and Larry. Yes, this is one of those songs that just begs to be bashed. Stu, "going postal" is a term that was coined a few years ago after some post office employees, in different parts of the US, went on killing sprees against the post offices in which they worked. It's possible that this mental condition was caused by their licking the glue on the cheap stamps ordered by one George Castanza. :-)

(Bad Song Contest) I had heard this before, but not in a while...so, I made the mistake of d/l it. What a waste of 15 minutes. Anyways, great song satire and syllable matching (at least, through the first 2 verses - I couldn't stand to listen to the whole song). 555.

The nauseous verb is spelled r-e-t-c-h. The noun spelled w-r-e-t-c-h refers to a miserable person.
