"Down On The For'ner"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Squirrely we perceive them makin' their upward climb,
Runnin' from the courthouse the INS behind.
Poor kids of these for'ners, pickin' all the crops,
Can't afford the tuna so they're eatin' river carp.

Down on the for'ner, take a back seat,
Will he be a poor boy a slavin',
Or sell nickels on the street?

Brewsky's on the dashboard, drive around in style,
'Migra * sees and gives chase and follows for a while.
Home boy guns the engine and drives out his gazoo,
Then he puts a vast dis-tance and bids those boys adieu.

Roundin' the corner, fly down the street,
Really make a bad noise a drivin',
In a car, not legal street.

Down on the for'ner, take a back seat,
Will he be a poor boy a slavin',
Or sell nickels on the street?

We don't like when many start to hang around,
They're out sellin' nickels and the property goes down.
Over on the corner there's a lot of noise,
Junkies come from all around to buy their magic toys.

Down on the for'ner, take a back seat,
Will he be a poor boy a slavin',
Or sell nickels on the street?

Roundin' the corner, fly down the street,
Really make a bad noise a drivin',
In a car, not legal street.

Down on the for'ner, take a back seat,
Will he be a poor boy a slavin',
Or sell nickels on the street?

* La Migra - (Immigration) Name given by illegals to the INS.

Sounds like we've lived in similar neighborhoods!

You managed to say a lot about conditions in this parody. I like the ones like this that speak to my soul, even if you did mean it to be funny. I realize that and gave you 5's.

Sellin' nickels huh? Can't say I've seen that, but I have seen a couple hangin' on the street and selling something. Like Adagio said, you make a statements about conditions, and you did it to this song quite well. Nice one, Guy.

Political humor that doesn't blame any one person/party for the situation it describes--and well-paced too, with just enough references to the original. Since I got three nickels, gonna put my comments down...
