Original Song Title:

"Have You Ever Seen the Rain"

 (MP3)
Original Performer:

Creedence Clearwater Revival

Parody Song Title:

"Have You Ever Seen "Airplane!""

Parody Written by:

Michael Pacholek

The Lyrics

A "takeoff" on someone else's idea.
(instrumental opening)

Someone told me, long ago
there's a film, a laughter storm.
I know.
Seen that film a hundred times.

When it's over, says the man
something smelly hits the fan.
I know.
Laughing like I oughter!

I want to know:
Have you ever seen "Airplane!"
I want to know:
Have you ever seen "Airplane!"
Coming down
with Robert Hays!

Leslie Nielsen, Robert Stack
and Lloyd Bridges, getting hot.
I know.
Wrong week picked to quit this film!

Lovely Julie Hagerty
joined in this hilarity.
I know.
Laughs can't stop, I wonder....

I want to know:
Have you ever seen "Airplane!"
I want to know:
Have you ever seen "Airplane!"
Coming down
with Robert Hays!

Yeah!

I want to know:
Have you ever seen "Airplane!"
I want to know:
Have you ever seen "Airplane!"
Coming down
with Robert Hays!

(instrumental close)

This was the wrong week to stop reading parodies by Michael Pacholek

This wasn't a 'take-off' idea on my CCR parody was it Mr Pacholek?

Tell me, Mr. Pacholek, do you also like movies about gladiators? Haw haw! Classic movie, fine tribute! 555

Matthias: In that case, I'd better not let you know that I hate... I'd better not finish that joke. Mason: That's quite a compliment coming from such a towering talent as yourself. Jason: Yes it was, and that's no jive. You don't believe me, ask Mrs. Cleaver. Yoidy: No, but I'll bet you've seen 300 of them. Get it, 300? Good to see you think I've still got some zip, and that I can still win just one for the zipper. Wait, that makes it sound like a Johnny D parody...

If you want more spin-off ideas Mr Pacholek, read my Beatles parody "Plaxton-Bodied Volvo" which is about buses, not planes.
Have you seen Airplane 2 by any chance? It was CACK compared to Airplane!
Michael Pacholek - April 18, 2007 - Report this comment
Just read the Volvo parody, and, well, to be honest, you need better rhymes. I'm presuming you're writing in English instead of something getting lost in the translation. (That has happened here.) As for "Airplane II: The Sequel," it had its moments, but it looked like they picked the wrong week to start doing a sequel.

Surely this is a great reminder of a great movie. I'm just glad I didn't have fish for lunch today.

Michael, that parody was not a translation. I must admit a couple of my latest parodies were slightly rushed, so I am really gonna knuckle down hard and write a really kicking parody, as Im worried into falling into Tokusou Sentai Blessranger territory. Anyway I thought this parody was pretty good.
Michael Pacholek - April 18, 2007 - Report this comment
Easy, there, Jason. You're not getting into Blessranger, or, even worse, Fitu territory. The only problem I had with your last couple of entries was the rhymes. It'll get better. It just needs a little more thought than it's already getting. Any more than that usually leads to headaches. And if you can find a word that ALMOST rhymes but is funnier than one that totally does, go with that. I'm guessing you can do this.

Not the funniest thing you've ever written, but it still gets off the gorund... :-)

Yea I agree with you Michael. Don't worry I wasn't complaining or anything. I do welcome any sort of constructive critism.

Yes, I have seen "Airplane" & I loved it. 5s to you, Mike. Sorry I was absent these past few days, as I was on a trip to France & Italy (which was great, btw. You should visit sometime). Also, I'll be back to writing parodies soon.

DKTOS. The parody's OK...but, in my opinion, it could've used more parts mentioned in it. (Like the central-to-plot food-poisoning, for example) I am, however, QUITE glad you didn't bring up the "Otto-pilot" getting, er, "fixed."
