The Lyrics

Voila! My first CCR parody. Ever since I started visiting this site in August 2006, I've had lots of fun. Sometime in September 2006, I discovered the song parody section & started writing some myself. Eventually, I discovered that there were many song parodies in the archive that had never been read. By my standards, if a parody hasn't been voted or commented upon for a long time, then I consider it to have been unread (Yes, I know they got the view counter now). I've even written a few myself. Hopefully, this one won't end up being unread. Enjoy.
I was surfin’ AmIRight,
It’s a wicked cool website.
I know,
I’ve gone there so many times.
I was reading song lampoons,
Parodies of well-known tunes,
But some
Have never been read yet.

I wanna know why there’s unread parodies,
I wanna know why there’s unread parodies
Collecting dust in the archives.

People work hard on those songs,
But they’ve been unread for so long.
And thus,
All their effort has been wasted.
Hopefully, someone will find
One of those songs, and be kind
Enough
To vote & comment them.

I wanna know why there’s unread parodies,
I wanna know why there’s unread parodies
Collecting dust in the archives.

(YEAH!)

I wanna know why there’s unread parodies,
I wanna know why there’s unread parodies
Collecting dust in the archives.

There's a few reasons why "unread parodies" exist. One is they could have never been read, obviously. More likely, with older parodies anyway, is that a) comments weren't around at the time of submission or b) the votes cast were lost in mid 2004. There are too many parodies in 'mothballs', so to speak - ABC (and other contests) give us a chance to breathe new life into them... speaking of which, you ought to get a messageboard account. 545

-because people are stingy, or they don't have a sense of humor. I refuse to vote on anything to to with sex, violence or predjudice.

Many of my parodies are either unread or are forgotten, and several (Minivan Convoy and Seashores of Old Mexico as seen in the Video, just to name two) should be removed from AmIRight because they are too stupid to deserve the name 'stupid'. FYI, 'Andria', who always comments on Lohan-related parodies is my girlfriend.
