The Lyrics

On vacation, folks, not doing too much writing at present, but...I've threatened to do this a couple times...here we go, a new "Project"..."David Crosby Cooks for the Group (Crosby, Stills & Nash...and sometimes Young)"
Steve, mow the lawn
Hey, Graham, pick some flowers
I'll decide what to cook today
Slaving at the stove
For hours and hours
While I listen to you
bitch and moan
And whine and groan
All day
The whole damn day

Don't like the chow?
You do not like
My souffled spinach
"All your cooking sucks
The sautéed mushrooms
Are undercooked
Cheese should be grated
Food this evening
Tastes like poo"
I'm tired of them
They're rude
Hey guys, get screw-ew-ewed

You grouse
So you don't like how I cook
Get a spouse
You two cats like to gripe
But I am not your wife
You don't like how I cook
Well, go get screwed

Good-bye...

Bye, bye, bye-bye-bye-bye
Bye, bye-bye-bye-bye
Bye, bye, bye-bye-bye
Bye, bye, bye-bye-bye-bye
(and on, and on, etc., to match the "La-la's" of the OS here)

I quit!
If you don't like how I cook
Go eat sh*t
I slave all day real hard
So you baboons don't starve
While you guys take it easy
Man, that's screwed

So, guys
You kiss my ass
Now you can go hire
Someone to cook
Your meals
Each day-yay-yay-yay

The image is too funny. Thanks for the CDs, Paul. Given me several ideas.

Great job, Paul. One of my favorite CSNY OS's. So, how did the gig with the Duncan's and JAB go? Oh yeah, 555

JB, glad you liked it. I had thought of a "Cooking with Crosby" series before...actually my "4+20 Blackbirds..." piece was when I thought of it, but hadn't actually worked on anything towards it...until we had our little "Parody Writer's cooking up some new pieces" photo session in RAD & MAD's kitchen last Wednesday night...and I got to thinking about actually "cooking" some of these up. Got more ideas, at least titles...thinking about trying to do the whole "Deja Vu" album within that theme. Glad the CD's have inspired. alvin - as noted above, expect more in the future, although probably not until I get back from my vacation. Rick C - the Espresso Gardens gig went very well, I had a great time. JAB had some hilarious "Mental Health" numbers and I got to sing a few small chorus parts on both, so the ham in me was well fed that evening. Mine went over well, and one of the regulars there (Daphna, regular songs, incredibly beautiful voice) commented afterword that I didn't seem to be shaking at all - not true, but much less...I started using a heavy-duty transparent plastic sheet protector to keep my written lyrics in...in doesn't bend easily, so it appears more steady than a loose sheet of paper. Rick did a couple of really funny numbers and Mari did a beautiful parody of Judy Collins' "Someday Soon", don't remember the exact title, "Someday I'll Sue" I think...it's probably on the site and if you haven't seen it you ought to check it out...and she also did a wonderful duet with a fellow there named Dean who is an exceptional singer. Best news: I'm also going to hit San Jose on my way back down to L.A. and do the open mic thing again (this Thursday night). JB, hope you are able to make it again, I'm really looking forward to doing it now. Well...later folks...

Hey Paul, is Crosby "all THUMBS" in the kitchen? Heh heh heh!

Oh, I think it's much worse than that, JD...we should be finding out in the ensuing days and/or weeks...more to come in this vein...Thanks!

Crosby's cooking is that bad? Maybe that's why Stills and Nash have got to get themselves back to the garden.
