Parody Song Title:

"I Sweep Floors"

Parody Written by:

John A. Barry

The Lyrics

I sweep floors
I clean floors
High-sheen floors

I really want to sweep you
Really want a sheen on you
Really want to clean you, floors
But it takes so long, my floors

I sweep floors
Nice clean floors
Bright-sheen floors

I really want to show you
Really want to show my crew
Really want to show my floors
To the waiting throng, my floors
(Hall’s a lulu!)

I clean floors (hall’s a lulu!)
My cleaned floors (hall waste, lose it!)
Nice-sheen floors (haul waste, lose it!)

I really love to clean you
Really love a sheen on you
Really love to clean you, floors
I will not do wrong, my floors
(Hall, I vacuum)

I clean floors (hall I vacuum)
Fine clean floors (hall untrashed soon)
Bright-sheen floors (haul off trash soon)

I really want to soap you
Really want some soap on you
Really want to soap my floors
With soap you can’t go wrong, my floors
(Hall’s a lulu!)

Yes, hall’s a lulu!
I clean floors
(Hall I vacuum)
My nice floors
(Haul off trash soon)

Mmm, my floors
(Haul off litter)
My nice, nice floors
(Haul off Krispies)
Oh yes, my clean floors
(Krispies litter)
Oh, oh, yes, haul off hall junk

Hall of litter
Haul of litter
Hall off litter
Hall of rubbish
Haul of rubbish
Haul off rubbish
Hall detritus
Haul detritus
Hall basura
Haul basura
Hall of rubble
Haul of rubble
Haul off rubble
Goo, shoo!—stuck gum
Goo, shoo!—stuck cum
Goo, shoo!—stuck plum
Goo, shoo!—subgum
Goo, shoo!—stuck scum. . . .

[fade on sounds of sweeping, vacuuming, etc.]

You can take pride in a job well done, a floor so clean you could sing off of it.

Made me laugh! Now will we see the dirty version tomorrow? 5s

Cleanliness is next to godliness - Li(t)teraly in this parody vs TOS combo.

Didn't Snow White sing this while tidying up the cave of the Seven Dwarves? .... or was that "I Keep Dwarves"

You know, JAB, I can see now that the OS could have great potential for parody. it's just too bad that not many words rhyme with "my" or "sweet" or "lord" :D .... although "My Swede Fjord" comes to mind

Thanks, Patrick, Puto, Peter, Lennie--I love MSF. Hope you plan to do it. How about "My tweet bored"? "My Meat Soared/Scored"?

There are no fjords in Sweden, that's strictly a Norwegian thing (and New Zealand, for some to me unknown reason).

This one made me laugh, John. Very funny subs, I could easily see this being performed very well. Especially liked: "(Haul off Krispies) and (Krispies litter)"

That could definitetly pose problems in the crafting ot the lyrics, Peter
