The Lyrics

Remember how we listened to the radio
And you said, “That's the place for me,”
Where you’d mix with young celebrities that we’d seen on the TV,
You’d get blue jeans from Wrangler
And kaftans through the mail,
But though the mood was glamorous
The reality was pale.

He was the morning DJ at WNKR
Giving lifts to ladies in his E-type Jaguar,
The bright good morning voice that seemed so innocent
Who hung around at festivals to get me in his tent.
You saw the death of vinyl
And the birth of the compact disc
But you still enjoyed the lifestyle with an element of risk.
You met with country singers
Who flew-in from overseas,
You’d pat them on their backsides
And sit them on your knees.

He was the morning DJ at WNKR
Leering at the ladies, as he went from bar to bar,
The bright good morning voice that seemed so innocent
Who hung around at festivals to get me in his tent.

You lost your moral compass
When you hit middle age,
You’d still hang out with female stars and chat them up backstage.
You showed some signs of jealousy
Towards the younger jocks,
But your hands just kept on wandering
And disappeared up frocks.

He was the morning DJ at WNKR
Leering at the ladies, as he went from bar to bar,
Thanks to Taylor Swift and friends, no longer can he leer,
His Neanderthal behaviour put paid to his career.

He was the morning DJ at WNKR
Leering at the ladies, as he went from bar to bar,
Thanks to Taylor Swift and friends, no longer can he leer,
His Neanderthal behaviour put paid to his career.
WNKR is a fictitious radio call sign, in the format used across the United States. Wrangler is a registered trademark. Jaguar is a marque of automobile, now owned by the Tata Corporation.

Well played... but there IS a WNKR. It's based in Williamstown, Kentucky, outside Cincinnati, the call letters stand for Northern Kentucky Radio, it's at 106.5 on the FM dial, and they play "classic country." Something tells me they don't get the point you were trying to make about the letters.
