"Pyre of Pain"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

in memory of 9/11
Just 3 years ago now, they let me know you were gone
New York the plans they made
Put a hurt on you
Death and destruction hurt so many, and how
How could we all forget who they did it to?

Chorus:
Oh, we've seen fire and we've seen pain
We thought sunny days were just not supposed to end
But in dreadful times we should rally round as friends
Did you think you'd see those Twin Towers again?

Won't you look down upon us, Jesus
They say that you're the risen man
You've just got to help us rise through ashes now
This country's achin' and just what is the plan...
To people who hate us we will never bow

(Repeat Chorus)

Been turnin' my mind to that day in time
So many brave ones died
Lord knows we've got lots of foes
Who ain't ever satisfied
Well, there ain't no time to moan and pine
Let's talk about things to come
So things like flying machines
Won't make rubble on the ground

Oh, we've seen fire and we've seen pain
Once we thought that sunny days would never end
But in dreadful times did we rally round as friends?
Did you think you'd see those Twin Towers again?

Thought I'd see them one more time again
There's just a few things whirling around in my mind
Thought I'd see them thought I'd see them
Pyre of pain

Wow, heavy duty, Royce. 5-2-5. I didn't vote a 1 for "How Funny" because of the cleverness of the write, and because of the mustard-seed of hope in your line "we should rally round as friends". Good job.

Very well written

That was lovely Royce. I gave 5 in the 'middle section' because for parodies such as these, I replace 'funny' with sincerity. Well done. Not filled with hate, instead, a good positive message.

I can say that this one came straight from Royceannes's heart. This is the type of person she was. She held no malice for anyone, even those who harmed her. She was a people pleaser with a heart of gold who would give you the shirt off her back if you were cold and give you the last of her food if you were hungry. She never uttred an unkind word about anyone to me in the time I've known her. If she couldn't say anything good about a person and she usually could find a redeeming quality to say, she would say that they were a work in progress and that God is not finsihed with them yet. I miss her badly and my heart aches. Why do the good go far before their time?
