Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

skippin' my lunch break
fun job for god's sake
hordes of them shoppers...enter in coils
open, the door swings
inside, the folks spring
on, they inch...the carpet, they soil

wastin' my day again in walmartgreeterville
tellin' all "hi"...as past, they assault
amity claimed...although i don't know their names
but i glow...when its near me, they vault

yeah, i know the reason
its discounts, they're seizin'
don't need "hello"...but its just what i do
this job's a beauty
i fulfill my duty
when they arrive...i know its my cue

wastin' my day again in walmartgreeterville
cruisin' past me...at the wheels of a cart
i'll get no fame...but i don't feel its a shame
in they slink...and i hail as they dart

they ask, "where's the pop tarts?"
and if we have truck parts
hope they feel...i can tell where to roam
if she asks for blenders
i know where to send her
they need my directions...to make it like home

wastin' my day again in walmartgreeterville
even though some...will tease me or taunt
badge shows my name...so they will know who to blame
there they go...its my store, they haunt

Nicely done. Good take on something we don't normally think about.

As you probably remember, I too wrote a parody about Wal-Mart greeters, but it detailed how annoying they are and not how their workday is like you did. Great job, and I would honestly work in a coal mine than as a Wal-Mart greeter.

I applied to Wal-Mart last month, but didn't hear from them for awhile. Anyways, I'd rather shop than work at Wal-Mart! Also nice to see you writing again! So how are things going at driving school? Good? Anyways, here's 5's on this parody!

The title alone is a hoot.

Down here is South Texas the locals just call the place "Wally Martinez" - This is no joke. Attention WalMart shoppers - greeter Alvin Rhodes just got a 5 cent pay hike for being very greety. Keep it up Alvin and you may yet make that ever so coveted employee of the month with your smiling mug shot and all. Great write. Nice to see you on board here today.

Alvin... helping us all to "Live Better"-- one parody at a time! And agree with 2Eagle: Title switch alone is worth 5s!

Great song, there are some days when I feel like smacking them in the face, but the theme of a Jimmy Buffett song makes things peaceful again!!! Fives...
