I heard part of "Hallelujah" being played at Fenway Park during a memorial service for the victims of the Boston Marathon Bombing and subsequent violence. Including the lines "Maybe there's a God above, but all I ever learned from love, was how to shoot somebody who outdrew you". I guess that commemorated the police officer who was shot trying to apprehend the two suspects. "Hallelujah" does have a stately pace and sounds very somber and dignified, but does anyone listen to lyrics anymore? I did find out as I type my version, that May 26, 1927 was the date the last of 15 million Model T Ford cars rolled off the assembly line. So, my lyrics, while perhaps not as profound as Mr Cohen's, do relate somewhat to the day I am uploading them.
