Parody Song Title:

"Coloring Book"

Parody Written by:

Porfle Popnecker

The Lyrics

I wanna play with my coloring book
I could stay busy the rest of the day
With my coloring book

I fill in the pictures, I stay in the lines
I use the right colors, no purple sunshine
My coloring book

Ten pretty pages, I color by noon
The artist relaxes and reads the cartoons
In my coloring book

I finish the pictures, I fill in the hues
I use the right colors, no orange emus
My coloring book

It's only five till four
I'm gonna color some more
I need another red
To do this Indian chief's head
Yeah yeah yeah

I liked that bit of clever racism in the last line. Very cute parody!

You're gonna need some black/To color Kenyan Barack.

Do they make Barack coloring books?

The greatest joy of a young child's coloring is the opposite of everything you wrote here. It is because of the wrong colors and outside the lines that make a true heart-felt masterpiece for the refrigerator. Obviously, you never had kids. Also, I always love purple sunshine from my son.

I was always more obsessive-compulsive about my coloring. Although I did like to experiment with the colors in Batman's costume.

Good work here... the original song was about Buffy Sainte-Marie, who is a Canadian First Nations native adopted by Americans and who had a relationship with Neil Young at one time, so the red Indian thing is a little touchy, and that's probably where the 1s came from... 5s for you from me tho.

Thanks! I had a Big Chief writing tablet when I was a kid, so his face still looms large in my mind.

As a kid I was fascinated with Indian stuff and was in awe when we traveled in the West and I got to see a real cigar-store Indian Chief!!! So 555 from me!

As a kid I was fascinated with Indian stuff too but when you visit Adena/Hopewell mound complexes, the Cherokee reservation in North Carolina, or some Iroquois, Huron and Chippewa reservations in New York state, Michigan, Ontario and Quebec it's even more relevatory. The experience will tell you a LOT.

Thanks guys. I'm even getting nostalgic for the times I'd sit and stare at that old test pattern waiting for TV to come on in the morning. I got to visit the Alabama-Coushatta reservation once.
