Original Song Title:

"Heart of Gold"

 (MP3)
Original Performer:

Neil Young

Parody Song Title:

"Artichoke"

Parody Written by:

Porfle Popnecker

The Lyrics

I wanna eat
I wanna treat
I'm in denial with this artichoke
It's my regret to admit defeat

That keeps me messin' with this artichoke
And I prod and poke
Keeps me messin' with this artichoke
And I think it's broke

I've tried a power saw
I've tried a hack saw
I've placed explosives in this artichoke
It's ruining lunchtime
A mocking punchline

That keeps me messin' with this artichoke
I don't get the joke
Keeps me messin' with this artichoke
And I need a toke

Keeps me messin' with this artichoke
Keeps me wishin' it was up in smoke
Keeps me messin' with this artichoke
I'm breakin' china with this artichoke
Ohh

Oh Porfle, Porfle, Porfle. You just planted a seed in my brain for a full Neil Young songapaloooza. It should come to full flower come Monday or Tuesday

I meant to do that.

Porfle, you sure have a way with food- 555! The only artichokes I like are marinated in a glass jar! My brother says marinated mushrooms are better but I disagree.

Thanks guys! I did the full artichoke thing once but under adult supervision. I do love me a jar of artichoke hearts, though.

Every now and then I get hungry for cactus served at La Fiesta. Not bad...

"It's ruining lunchtime". It would certainly ruin mine. Recommend abstinence, it's the only solution!

More great reasons why vegetables are bad for you, causing unnecessary stress, forces one to implement ordinance, and busts perfectly good china. Here, here!

I started laughing out loud at "and I think it's broke' and didn't stop thru the whole parody. This is my pick of the day!

I just had to read this one again. So at work the last few days I keep going around singing: "And I think it's broke..." Get some funny looks, lol.
