Original Performer:

Neil Young

Parody Song Title:

"A Man Pees His Name"

Parody Written by:

Porfle Popnecker

The Lyrics

My wife's complaining
That on holidays
We don't go in the truck anymore
There's a ski run open Saturdays
So I guess we're going though it's a bore

I was thinking that
Maybe I'd pee my name
Find a spot of snow
That was unstained
Dash it off just like an actor
Zip my jeans and run away

A man, a man pees his name
A man

It's hard to make an "a"
It looks like, in a way
An "o"

To make a streak
You gotta take a leak
To take a leak
You gotta twist and tweek

Darn, I made my "u" an "n"

A mile away from here
Beside a glen
Someone'd written his name
Without a pen
I heard a scream from a huntress
She was layin' atop
The autograph of "Ben"

A man, a man pees his name
A man, a man pees his name

M-I-L-B-U-R-N

Chet Atkins sang a song, once called, "I Still Write Your Name In The Snow"

Back in the 40s, there was actually a superhero named The Whizzer!

Ok. I have to say that I sat and listened to the OS and marveled at the apparent esotericness of the ending lyrics. And then a light came on and it all made sense! Beautiful. Assuming you are the person named at the end of the song (but even if you are not) that combination of end letters sits perfectly. This was great work and the sadness of the OS when combined with the absurdity of the subject made it very amusing. 3 yellow fives in your snow. Porfle, your mind goes to strange places...

That was pretty wild and clever.

Tagline for the Whizzer Superhero: When he has to go, he REALLY HAS TO GO!!! Sorry Porfle, but you set yourself up for that one! Pic below of the Whizzer: http://cdn2.holytaco.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/whizzer-4.jpeg

Peregrin--I appreciate you giving it such careful consideration! And I'm glad you got what I was going for. BTW, the person at the end of the song is named after one of my heroes, Milburn Drysdale. WarrenB--Thanks! Rob--yep, that's him all right, yellow costume and all.

Milburn? And here I just thought in your ordeal of misforming the a's and o's you misspelled "Kilroy"...
Porfle Popnecker - July 13, 2012 - Report this comment
I could never last long enough to write "Kilroy Was Here" in its entirety.

Never asked Porfle, but what is your real first name? Do you prefer Porfle here??? I don't recall seeing it on your Blog either...???
Porfle Popnecker - July 16, 2012 - Report this comment
Yeah, I pretty much go by Porfle all the time online. My real name is boring.

Man and all this time I thought it was going to be "Calvin" although I guess his chosen medium to whizz on is more Ford logos and less snow.
Porfle Popnecker - August 11, 2012 - Report this comment
I hear he pees on white albums, too...

You mean that wasn't lemon flavored snow?
Porfle Popnecker - August 22, 2012 - Report this comment
No! You should get your lemon flavored snow only from licensed snow cone dealers!

(SOTM) You really think of the weirdest topics Porfle. Cool title switch. It was short, silly, and well-crafted. Good work.
Porfle Popnecker - August 30, 2012 - Report this comment
Thanks! Short, silly, and well-crafted is how I like my women, too.
Abbott Skelding - August 30, 2012 - Report this comment
HA! Great job here, and I about lost it with the "Darn, I made my U an N"...it's funny and it fit perfectly (rhyming and pacing-wise) with the OS. Nice work!
Porfle Popnecker - August 30, 2012 - Report this comment
Much appreciated!
bobpiecheese - August 30, 2012 - Report this comment
(SOTM) Unique topic, you pulled it off quite well. The only thing dragging this down is the unfathomably dreary OS. 555 frostbitten willies!
lifeliver - August 31, 2012 - Report this comment
Did it again, Porfle, funny responses here too. Normally I don't like toilet jokes, but as we're technically not in the toilet, you win. I like the OS, any Neil Young, and this one was well mangled.
lifeliver - August 31, 2012 - Report this comment
Btw, I don't get 'Milburn', could someone elucidate? Milburn Drysdale I know, though Ellie Mae is more my style, long's she don't rassle too durty.
Porfle Popnecker - August 31, 2012 - Report this comment
@bob--thanks, yeah, it's a pretty maudlin-sounding OS although I still like it. @lifeliver--thanks! MILBURN was just a name that went along with the last line of the song when spelled it out.

SOTM...hahaha...I'm sure that the men (boys? ;) ) in the crowd appreciate this one on levels I cannot...but it still made me smile!

Girls can do it, too, but it involves a certain amount of dancing.
