The Lyrics

True tale regarding my air cooled VW busmy bus is here
It's just no fun stuck here alone
My bus wont go and so I moan
I am always tinkering
As different things are blinking
Cleaned the engine of all its grime

My Veedubya bus won't start
I'll have to acquire another part
Yes my Veedubya bus wont start
Don't wanna take engine apart

Goin' round the bend I wanna scream
Roof popped the kettle inside does steam
Make a cup of coffee and see if I can work out
Try to get the wheels to go round

My Veedubya bus won't start
I'll have to acquire another part
Yes my Veedubya bus wont start
Don't wanna take engine apart

I have a thought my eye does gleam
Electronic ignition - it starts a dream!
Now my Veedubya bus will start
Yes my Veedubya bus it starts!

Thanks to all for the votes and comments. I did know about Gene P's version but confess to forgetting - I based my parody on Neil Young's - the version I have ;)

Mr. Turtle kindly note! Neil Young wrote & did the original recording of this song (Only Love Can Break YOUR Heart) as I stated. The Gene Pitney song is completely different - the title is Only Love Can Break A Heart-the lyrics can be found here www.lyricsdownload.com/gene-pitney-only-love-can-break-a-heart-lyrics.html

I must have had my head up the wrong end of my shell when I wrote that... and it is eerie about Gene passing away a week later...
I did a parody of the Pitney song that I had confused this with, entitled "Only Stu Can Break Wind (Fart), on Fri. 7 April, part of a continuing series of tributes to Pitney. Thanks for setting me straight on this.
