The Lyrics

THE NORTH SIDE OF THE POLE

3.
FROSTY
(To "Money")

[Cash register]
[Shovel scraping]
[Train whistle]
[Snowball hitting window]
[Tires splattering slush]
[Sleigh bells]
[Sneeze]

[Repeat as bass kicks in, in totally undanceable 7/4 time]

Frosty
Jolly soul
Corn cob pipe big button nose
'n eyes OF coal

Frostayyy
So we're told
On- ly snow; don't buy that, the
Children know

It's no fairy tale, 'cause that - day he
Came to life; shocked the occult freaks

Frosty
Cool cat
Said "All you brats
Keep your hands off of my hat"

Frostayyy
Pitched a fit:
"Don't give me that old Santy Claus bullshit

I'm an A-
mer-can Idol-sized film star, better than y'all
With one big set of SNOW balls"

[Sax solo]

[Electric guitar solo]

[Corncob pipe solo]

Frostayyy
What a schmuck
Flashed his white ass
And then stole the keys to MY truck

Frostayyy
So they say
Tried Ah-nold's threat: "Ah'll be back
Someday"

But we threw - him on the porch - and
Grabbed blow torches; we melted
Him away
Away
Away
Away
Away
[etc.]

[Background:
Mickey Rooney and Burl Ives debate whether that was the way it really happened in the cartoon. No consensus is reached. Fisticuffs ensue.]

Thanx, Patagio & Jackie & Scholar Rhodes & Johngleberry & mac & Stuartiste.

Merry: Every time I hear the original, it's now "gooey good beespit." So thanks alot.

Dummy: Sorry for not explaining. I'm in the process of parodying all of The Dark Side of the Moon as "The North Side of the Pole" (tNSotP for short). This is the 3rd installment. Here are the first two:

My only complaint is that you didn't rhyme "bullshit". That "snow balls" line needs to go somewhere, I guess. You've made my New Year, pal! 555

Aggro: I truly was hoping I could get a visit from you, our resident Floyd freak. Thanks so much for reading and commenting on the whole shebang. I read the rhymes in the original as hit/shit and set/jet, which I did as fit/shit and y'all/balls. But now that you mention it, I can see where shit/jet may have been meant as an additional couplet. (Sigh.) After all, we're only ordinary men.

You are really on a roll with this parody! I couldn't keep a straight face at all -- Excellente! 5-5-5! By the way, which one's Blitzen?

Trademarked One: The one with the pink, um, "floyd."

I can't take Agri up on the whole album, 'cause me doesn't know it and me would get the clever lyrical stuff you've probably thrown in, but this was very different and funny. Kinda reminds me of the 'Gumby, DAMMIT' sketch on SNL, where Gumby turns out to be not-so-friendly and good-mannered either.

I always keep blowtorches on the porch for just crises like these. Liked this one though this OS is one of my least favorite PF songs if only due to massive overplay. Or perhaps trying to dance to a song in 7/4 time.

Looney 2nz: Eddie Murphy came up with an amazing number of classic SNL characters. Just thinking about it makes me want to go get the "Best of Eddie Murphy" DVD. Now.

Ant in Chains: I gotta agree with ya: I don't dislike "Money," but there are many other Floyd songs I'd rather listen to.
