The terrapin is in the mulch
And laying eggs, that is my hunch
Disturbing shrubs and flowers in its path
Got to deal now with the aftermath

The terrapin is on the grass
I think it's best not to harrass
Cause it could snap my finger off or something more
And that could leave me very sore

And if the pond is dried up many months too soon
And if there is no water in it still
and if the nest is undisturbed, we may see soon
Some little turtles crawling neath the moon

The terrapin is very big
The terrapin knows how to dig
It's looking at me with its eyes
I guess I came as a surprise
I'll go and get the shovel when it's done
And rearrange the mulch that it was on

And if the eggs are buried in the dirt
Then maybe out will burst some turtle squirts
And if the shells they're in bust open like balloons
We'll see some little turtle hatchlings soon

I can't think of anything to say except
That thing was huge! ha ha ha
