Original Song Title:

"Sailing"

Original Performer:

Rod Stewart

Parody Song Title:

"Snailing"

Parody Written by:

Merry & Pippin

The Lyrics

With the news of the imminent shutdown of submissions, I (Pippin) thought I had better pull my thumb out and get these into cyberspace while there was still time. I had been waiting for Merry to leave work and start doing parodies again, but this ship is sailing before hers. So, this is one of a number of submissions over the next few days that have been sitting in the vault - most for over 10 years.

Original song on YouTube. And if you happen to watch the video for old times' sake, feel free to marvel at Rod's woeful lip-syching...
I am snailing, I am snailing
hone the trend
this cuisine
I am snailing: gastropoders
Do be queer food -
Del’cacy

I am plying, I am plying
At my trade
Mucus-y
I am plying
chasing sly pods
Do be dear food
Ooozy be

Shells will soon be
Disappear-y
Through the dark night
Flashlights play
I’m relying
On Gallic buying
Do be rich food
Make ‘em pay

Pour some beer see
Stand it near see
They will draw nigh
Shrively
I am plying
Escargots prying
Butter pour through
Re-shell they

They are trailing, they are trailing
Slimey threads
Silvery
We are boiling
Them in water
To prepare to
Meal to be

A-dored gooey queer food
Helix be
A-dored chewy weird food

Helix be
A-dored gooey queer food
Helix be
A-dored
