The Lyrics

Yeah, this isn't one of my best, (though the "teach me 'bout" part is pretty good) but it carries an important message. If some of the facts are wrong, I'm not religious.
I'll never see why priests are perverts
Parents need to be on the alert
Don't let your kid sit on the Father's knee...
I'll never see why priests are perverts
This scandal makes me want to convert
Millions from the Catholic Church will flee...
"It's not true," they say
"It's taboo," they say
"Misconstrued," they say
We're not too blind to see!
I'll never see why priests are perverts
On the subject, the Pope is too curt
No word from the Vatican, come on Father, don't touch Timmy...
"You're guilty," we say
"It can't be," we say
"Betrayed me," we say
We're not too blind to see...
Oh, father, you're a dirty dirty dirty dirty dirty dirty man
Dirty dirty such a dirty dirty dirty dirty man
Come on, Father, please, please, please!
I tell ya, You can teach me 'bout, God, you see
Teach me 'bout, Jesus John and Mary
Don't teach me 'bout, teach me 'bout, teach me 'bout anatomy...
Molestation, you can write it off
Say the kid's lying, and just shrug it off
There's one thing, Father, that I don't understand
You keep on tellin' me you're God's appointed man
Can you sleep at night? (Ooh!)
With your halo bright?
You know it's not right, it can't be right...

I'll never see why priests are perverts,
I'll never see why priests are perverts,
Never (never) never (never) never, never, never see...
I don't need no priestly perverts
Don't need no scandal, don't need no more hurt
Never (never) never (never) never never never see...

If they don't give you a good vote, forgive them, Charlie, for they know not what they do.
Charlie Decker - September 20, 2003 - Report this comment
Yeah, as I said, it's not one of my best.

Nice job. Remember, we built this nation on Catholic Guilt.

"Let he who is without sin parody all the Stones songs"...good job.

Sorry, Charlie, but I disagree: IMO this is your best work so far... although it's not as tight a parody as some, it has a message worth telling, and told with wit, even if it's not laugh-out-loud kind of funny.
Wild Man - September 22, 2003 - Report this comment
Nice work Charlie, and I agree with Phil.

I agree with everyone, including you. Bitchin'.

I think this is morally insulting. 5,1,1.
Michael Pacholek - October 01, 2003 - Report this comment
Morally insulting? So is reassigning the priests in question. After all, a guy who just farted and walks into another room will end up having made two rooms stink.
a catholic - October 02, 2003 - Report this comment
Sorry. That's just my humble opinion.
Charlie Decker - October 03, 2003 - Report this comment
Whatever, you're entitled to your opinion. I didn't post this to make friends anyway, Catholic boy.
a catholic - October 09, 2003 - Report this comment
I know. But now that I think of it, it's not completely insulting cuz I actually have known a few disagreeable prisets in my life. So if I could change my vote, it would be 5,3,2.

Funny, but unfortunate.
