The Lyrics

This topic about Boxer, the tragic draft horse in the novel ,"Animal Farm" was done 3 years ago by Susanna Viljannen, and ever since a parody of my own spun in my head. At some point the subs really started flowing to where I thought "This is really good!" .. I read Animal Farm at the tender age of 11 and was deeply affected by the betrayal and death of Boxer. So this is one of my best. I think
I am just a Shire Horse
And my story has been told
How I squandered all my life force
For a pocketful of slogans
Such as "Four Legs Good"
From lying swine
Still a horse does what he's asked to do
Till his strength is undermined
(Lie, lie, lie)

Lie the lie, Lie the lie lie, lie the lie
Lie the lie
Lie the LIE LIE, lie the lie
Lie lie lie lie lie

When we seized control of the Manor Farm
I was more than overjoyed
In the company of equals
In the shadow of the windmill project
Straining hard
Laying low, checking out the porcine quarters
Where the corrupted piglets go
Looking for the logic
Only they would know

Lie the lie, lie the lie lie, lie the lie
Lie the lie
Lie the LIE LIE, lie the lie
Lie lie lie lie lie

Seeking only the truth of Snowball
I ask questions of The Boss
But I get no answers
Only onslaughts from the hellhounds
At Napoleon's side
I do declare, just that time
I was so pissed off
I stomped that mastiff there
(Lie, lie, lie)

Lie the lie, lie the lie lie
Lie the lie
Lie the LIE LIE, lie the lie
Lie lie lie lie lie

Now I'm straining on my injured hoof
And wishing I could rest
Blessed rest
Where the pigs demands
Aren't bleeding me; misleading me
Need my rest ...

In the stable lies ol' Boxer
With a burst lung for his pains
And he serves as a reminder
Of Napoleon's lies and treacheries
That broke him, till they cried out
In their horror and their shame
"They are taking him to the Knackers*"
So the bosses are the same

Lie the lie, lie the lie lie lie the lie
Lie the lie
Lie the LIE LIE, lie the lie
Lie lie lie lie lie
Knackers .. English equivalent of glue factory
