Parody Song Title:

"My Cherry Armoire"

Parody Written by:

Royce Miller

The Lyrics

La la la la la la, la la la la la la

My cherry armoire, all my clothes you do display
my cherry armoire
in the bedroom you will stay
my cherry armoire
Pretty little shelves and slide-out drawers
Piece of furniture that I adore
No, you're sure not knotty pine

In some living rooms your relatives contain tv's
Stereos and such, and collections of cd's
My cherry armoire, lemon oil on you I won't ignore
Old English will bring your shine out more
Like you more than knotty pine

La la la la la la
La la la la la la

Maybe today my bedroom suite is kind of loud
Maybe someday, they'll match you and I'll make you proud
Oh cherry armoire, pretty little shelves and slide-out drawers
you're the thing my clothes are longing for
Chose you over knotty pine

La la la la la la
La la la la la la

Wonder-ful parody, but if ya really don't like my two (count-em, two) tributes to ya, I'm gonna take my ball and go home (sniff). 5s anyway...

Tommy Turtle--didn't mean to offend you by not noticing the tributes--I haven't been reading alot of parodies nor writing alot, but thank you, I'm going to search for them and read them. Don't go back into your shell.

In the words of the immortal George Washington, I cannot tell a lie: I loved this. (That's a cherry-tree joke.) If I can ever get that second edition of "The Reckoning of These Song Titles" finished, this is a finalist for it.

I previously commented, but had to write again... ever notice the google ads in the right margin? Normally they're all ads to buy music cd's, but you rated all the "furniture for sale" ones !

John Barry and all--thanks for the comments. I had parodied this original song before, but somehow I looked at the title one day and realized I had missed the most obvious idea of all. Funny how that happens.
