The Lyrics

This is the first time I've used an OS by the Cars. Checking the "Search" funtion here it looks like the first time this particular OS has been used here as well. This one is from their "Candy-O" album of 1979. And, of course, it's another one of my "Health & Safety Tip" parodies...
[instrumental intro]

I'm in a plot 'cause I'm dead
I crashed and went "boom"
I'm in a plot – 'cause I sped
Yeah, and now I'm entombed

Well, I looked away
and then lost control
I missed a curve
off a cliff I did go
I lost some parts
now I lay here and moan
I won't get better
accident took it's tol-oll !

I crashed and busted my head
it led to my doom
My blood did not clot; I bled
it was over real soon

I crashed through the windshield
I had no time to think
Life passed before me in
the time I could blink
My blood flowed red
my condition
"Code Blue"
The Doctor said
"Damn this patient
is through - eew"

I got a clot in my head
my brain's been abused
Alive; I'm not, I am dead
"kaput", yes, I am through

[instrumental break]

I'm in a plot - I'm so dead
I'm in this plot - 'cause I sped
And now I rot - can be said
that it's really screwed

my car flipped over
and I flew through the air

Passed over hood
wet my pants; I was scared

Was filled with dread
feared that soon I would die

Slab sure is cold
they could not save my li-ife

Not a whole lot can be said
Without being crude
If you've got brains in your head
Observe safety rules

Alive; I'm not - yeah, I said
I'm in a plot - I'm real dead
could be alive - dead instead
I sure was a fool

I'm dead, and dude, that's not cool
I sped; I drove like a fool
and now I'm a ghoul

Hey, dude, this message is true

This is better than what they play in traffic school. Speed limit: 55(5) - like anyone obeys it lol!

It sure is a lively song, unlike the fool who's dead...that part was gruesome. I didn't connect you using a Cars song to write about one! 5's

Paul, the problem at "Love Handles" was answered.

So the 60s slogan "speed kills" is true in other areas of life! Sounds like a Tale from the Crypt. Bit too dark for me, so 545, but still an excellent parody.
