The Lyrics

This is dedicated to anybody who has ever boarded the wrong bus at Victoria Coach Station - the main bus terminus in London. There are literally hundreds of wrong buses to get on...
I spent the day fritt'ring money away
In all the shops around town
But when I got to Victo-
-o-oria
There's a million buses around

And I caught the last bus, bound for Ealing
Twenty bags weigh me down
But I'm heading the wrong way
Out of town

And I found out not too long ago
That we're goin' down the wrong ro-oa-ad
Ah, and the bus is takin' me all the way
I really do not want to go

'cause I'm on the last bus, bound for Ealing
Twenty bags weigh me down
And I'm not quite heading homeward bound

I get this feeling I may have to
Go and stay a friend
And this voice keeps whispering in my other ear, tells me
I may never get home again

'cause I'm on the last bus, bound for Ealing
Twenty bags weigh me down
But the bus driver's turning
Yes the bus driver's turning
Phew! The bus driver's turning
[The] bus around

Phil, will these three "5's" be enough for you to get back home? Nice job...

Had my passport and all my travellers cheques stoen at Victoria bus depot (or was it Victoria Station?) once, but I'm big enough to overlook the horrible memories that this revived to give you 5s

:-) Thanks, all. I suppose part of the joke for me would be that the bus to Ealing wouldn't actually be going in the wrong direction - just not going far enough.
