The Lyrics

This film, "The Passion of the Christ",
Guess it did so well that they released it twice
Its' second coming edited so now the kids can see
It's okay to crucify
If it says PG
If it says PG

Oh, why'd that fellow, Gibson, make his bold movie?
If we've read the book
We don't need to see
Don't wanna see Mel Gibson's movie, no siree
It's causing a fuss
With some among us
According to ABC
Oh, why'd that fellow, Gibson, make his bold movie?

Why not make Lethal Weapon Five?
"Cause at least in those films good guys stay alive
If you've had circumcision
Or, if you remain snip-free
This film of Melvin Gibson's gonna lay some guilt on thee
A happy ending please

Oh, why'd that fellow, Gibson, make his bold movie?
Causing pain and tears
Don't think it's for me
Don't wanna see Mel Gibson's movie, no siree
It's causing a fuss
With some among us
According to NBC
Oh, why'd that fellow, Gibson, make his bold movie?

Will it make us less God-fearing
If we see it in PG?
Oh, why'd that fellow, Gibson, make his bold movie?
I'm stayin' home, mmm, mmm

(Why did Gibson make his bold movie?)
(Why did Gibson make his bold movie?)
(Why did Gibson make his bold movie?)
(Why did Gibson make his bold movie?)
(Why did Gibson make his bold movie?)

Good play on the original lyrics - 555. As Donna Summer might say, "Mel just wants to make money.".

excellent stuff as usual, Rick - loved it in fact - better than the movie - although in the up-coming sequel apparently they reveal that Jesus's father is not God (as some believe) but Darth Vader - 555

Well, technically, the film DID have a happy ending, but the problem with people like Gibson is that they emphasize the loss rather than the triumph. The main reason I don't wear a cross is that the whole point is that He didn't stay on it. And Stuart, the truly scary part is that, if you watch the "Star Wars" saga, it's clear that, in that realm, the "messiah" (please note the lower case) was tempted... and gave in, bringing "hell" to the galaxy, and it is the "Christ" figure, as well as all of humanity (as far as they know) who have to be redeemed by his children, rather than by a chid of their god (The Force). Does that make Padme "Mary Magdalene"?
