Hurricane Katrina, lonesome blues still wail
Killer winds and streets of rising water
Delayed aid from systems designed to fail

In this great land of democracy..
Such misery was sad to see
We're always first to aid a foreign shore

As the water rose, so did thirst and starvation
Inside the dome Katrina's winds would roar
People prayed and struggled for survival,
Amid conditions the devil would deplore..

And the sons- who ran the country were the sons-
Who didn't care
In their cozy homes with cigars and caviar
Every night soft beds to sleep,
While here many suffered deep
Blind were eyes and dragged were feet,
Far under par..

Across our land, the people saw
Sights obscene and jungle raw
While government red tape blocked the crews
When the rescue busses fin'lly came
There were bucks to pass, and blames to blame
But the bigger fish never had to pay their dues...
