The Lyrics

Justin Bieber is the most over-hyped recording artist of them all in our day and age, an age full of overhyped artists. However, I didn't have much inspiration to bash him until his Never Say Never concert documentary came out in February 2011. That did it for me and what better rhetorical weapon of parody to attack his works than the Fab Four of the Continent--ABBA! In other words, I am using my 14th ABBA parody and 85th overall to respond to Bieber's stupidity and arrogance. By the way, I am using another of my favourite bands--1970s prog rock band Kansas--to narrate.
(While the intro plays, Kansas look on as several hordes of twelve-year-old fangirls scream in the presence of Justin Bieber.)

Stanza I.
Kerry Livgren: I don't want to hear
One more of his hit songs
Where he just sings "Baby!"
A thousand times, maybe.
Usher, you're a fool;
Ludacris e'er does wrong.
"One Less Lonely Girl"
Makes me wanna hurl.

Refrain I
All: The Bieber gets the hype;
All we can say is cripe!
Thank God he got no Grammys
Or else we'd feel so clammy.

Stanza II
Steve Walsh: We were superstars
With our Leftoverture:
Carry on, wayward son,
There's peace when you are done.
We worked hard for our fame;
We wanted to be sure.
But now, almighty dollar
Has made the tone-deaf taller.
Our songs are all ignored;
Will they e'er be restored?
Now Radio Disney
Wants us all to flee.

Refrain II (All)
The Bieber gets the fame;
This is a crying shame!
He didn't work that hard
And he smells like lard.

Stanza III.
Robby Steinhardt: How did he get the girls
That he has been getting?
Twelve years old they are;
They adore this star.
We will crash the show
And he'll be regretting
How he rose so fast.
We'll bring him down at last!

Refrain III.
All: The gods of song will side
Against the Bieber tide.
A rocket we will strap
To him and to his crap
That he calls music here.
He's too young to drink beer,
So why gets he attention?
His skill's too small to mention.

Stanza IV.
Kerry: As we light the flame
We'll be ever happy
To see him when he burns--
A point of "know" return!
Steve: Then our songs will play
Like the days of disco.
The classics will prevail
And teenyboppers fail
(Spoken) When you see...
All: The Bieber's lost his hype! (2x)
The OS, from 1980's Super Trouper (this is my second parody from that album), concerned Agnetha's divorce from Bjorn (sorry that IE doesn't allow umlauts). A similar theme would pervade "When All Is Said and Done" a year later on the album The Visitors, this time concerning the divorce of Benny and Frida the Red. Hopefully the public's divorce from puppy love will inspire happier songs!

Edward - Great OS and a devastating parody. I fully expect to see him in his own (remake) sitcom..."Leave It To Bieber"! ;D

I like it: using the OS of one horrible act to lampoon an even more horrible act.

Inventive narrative, and I was very relieved this wasn't just a "Beiber is satan" satire. Well, just remember, when all the hype is gone, Beiber will simply be dust in the bin.
