The Lyrics

It seems like yesterday
But it was long ago
Ate a lot of beans on a hot summer night
Rippin' a lot of farts there in Chicago
But Janey was with me
And she then said, please
Don't break wind in front of me now
Then I knew it was over, didn't understand how
And I remember what she said to me
How she swore that it never would end
But the beans I ate did me in that night
I let out noises, stunk her out again and again

Breakin' some wind
I was sittin' there breakin' wind
Did that for so long, I was sittin',
Breakin' some wind

The years rolled slowly past
And I found myself alone
Eatin' cans of strangers I thought were my friends
Then I stunk out myself many times in my home
And I guess I lost my way
There were oh so many beans
I was living to fart and farting to live
Never worried about buying something else to eat
Farting eight times a minute for months at a time
Breaking wind all the time now, my friend
I began to find myself searching
Searching for better food again and again

Breakin' some wind
You know I'm still breakin' some wind
I found myself seeking shelter from my breakin' wind

Well those farting days are past me now
I've got so much more to think about
I've changed my food habits
In my food now, all beans are left out

Breakin' some wind
Once in a while I still break wind
I try not to, but still sometimes break some wind
It's on accident, but still sometimes
I break some wind
I break some wind
I break some wind

Still breakin'
I'm still breakin' some wind
I'm still breakin'
I'm still breakin' some wind
Still breakin'
I'm still breakin' some wind
Still breakin' some wind
See the people run
Watch the people run
Watch the people runnin'
They'll be runnin' from my wind
Let the people drive
Let the people drive
They'll be drivin' away from my wind
Breakin' some wind......

This is VERY funny, and deserves a lot more attention than it is getting.

Thanks to all who liked it. I don't know if I had a funnier one for February, I was still quite new to the site then.

Better than the usual fart gags... on seeing the title, I was kind of expecting it to be to Priest's "Breakin' the Law" :-)

Looking through the comments on the Feb SOTM contest: You called Merry & Pippin's Batman parody "disgusting" (presumably because it includes some sexual innuendo), and you said Agrimorfee's riff on cannibalism is "horrible." That led me to believe that your entry would be about a more highbrow topic. Ah, yes - farts.
Paul Robinson - September 25, 2004 - Report this comment
Phil, Very nice pacing. Solid job with a gaseous topic. 5-4-5 (FEB SOTM).

"Living to fart and farting to live" managed to make me laugh. Also, "it's on accident, but still sometimes..."

(SOTM) I HATE the OS, so this was a good way of parodying it! Ha ha!

I also enjoyed the line "...living to fart and farting to live." Pretty good, Phil with an N. Pretty good for something that stinks anyway.

I've been working on a parody for this song as well (different title). Good job Phil, yours worked well.

I thought it was funny. The line "Living to fart and farting to live" cracked me up. Another line that had me splitting a gut was "Farting eight minutes for months at a time." That's some serious farting going on.

So basically, Phil, this was a song is about a parting caused by farting (and I thank you) And so, untill l we tweet again .. Farting is such sweet sorrow. ... And to "a person" -- Helluva comment; we look forward to more of your brilliance!!
