I LOVE, LOVE seeing new work from someone who knows exactly how to do it right from the getgo. Are you a noobie? This and your Weird Al work today (which you did not click to enable comments) are a good 1-2 punch to this site that hasn't had great stuff as of late.

I posted a third parody on this site that appeared on, I believe, yesterday (11/30/22) or the day before. It's a STAR WARS parody song called "I've Got to Protect the Boy," sung to the tune of the old John Denver hit "Thank God I'm a Country Boy." If you haven't seen it yet, take a look! A long time ago I posted my first parody song to amiright - another STAR WARS parody song. It was to the tune of a Billy Joel song from the 1970s called "Scenes from an Italian Restaurant." My parody is titled "Snitch from the Mos Eisley Spaceport." It's a clever parody but the original song isn't that well known outside more-than-casual Billy Joel fan circles. I'm not even sure if "Snitch" is still posted on this site. I'll have to check. So far these four parody songs are the only ones I've written. I appreciate the reference to Weird Al. Writing parody songs is a fun hobby but my big dream has always been to be a comic-strip cartoonist. I have a full-time career so I write and draw comic strips as my hobby. My main feature, RAMEN NOODLES, can be found on Facebook, Instagram and its own independent website. Check it out if you get a chance!

You made a point that I've been trying to make to others In order for a parody of a given OS to really work, the OS MUST be familiar to the audience, along with the subject matter of your parody. The whole point of humor is to flip something familiar on its head, which causes the listener to flip it back inside their own cranium, which is the essence of "getting it" ... The OS that always works for me is "Bohemian Rhapsody", because everyone knows the lyrics to it, either from being old enough to hear it when it was released or from exposure in the movie Waynes World
