Original Song Title:

"Rock Me Amadeus"

 (MP3)
Original Performer:

Falco

Parody Song Title:

"Dr. Zaius"

Parody Written by:

Rice Cube & Watt Daddy

The Lyrics

Inspired by that one Simpsons episode with "Planet of the Apes: The Musical"
Oh help me Dr. Zaius! (Dr. Zaius...)

He was the greatest ape to set foot on this earth
He tried to enslave us humans straight from birth
It was perfectly logical when the spaceship fell
And Ev'rybody screamed:
Look at the rocket Dr. Zaius!

He was a scientist, he ruled with great might
And he'd torture the humans with great delight
And then Charleton Heston came and made new ground
And got the humans to shout:
Down with Dr. Zaius!

Dr. Zaius Dr. Zaius, Dr. Zaius
Dr. Zaius Dr. Zaius, Dr. Zaius
Dr. Zaius Dr. Zaius...oh oh oh Dr. Zaius!

With the horse's reins in one hand and a woman in the other
And he rallied rebel clans
To mount a rebellion against the damned dirty apes
After which they would sing:
We beat Dr. Zaius!

Dr. Zaius Dr. Zaius, Dr. Zaius
Dr. Zaius Dr. Zaius, Dr. Zaius
Dr. Zaius Dr. Zaius...oh oh oh Dr. Zaius!

He rode on to the shore thinking the war was won
But then he saw something made him swallow his tongue
It seemed the movie made history
So ev'rybody said:
Bring back Dr. Zaius!

Dr. Zaius Dr. Zaius, Dr. Zaius
Dr. Zaius Dr. Zaius, Dr. Zaius
Dr. Zaius Dr. Zaius...oh oh oh Dr. Zaius!

I love Falco's "Amadeus" song! And I'll never forget the Simpsons' Dr. Zaius song. But your version takes the cake. God job.

That's not a bad parady, you's two have put together Rice & Watt, but I think the Simpsons "Dr Zaius" is better and so does my 12 year old son!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I respect your opinion, Bob, but keep in mind that in the episode, the Apes actors only sang the chorus, so we had to build on that. I appreciate your comments though :)

I still remember that episode. I even giggle whenever I hear that song

"I hate every ape I see, from Chimpan-a to Cimpanzee, oh you'll never make a monkey out of me! Oh my God, I was wrong, it was earth all along, you finally made a monkey, (yes we finally made a monkey), yes you finally made a monkey out of me! I love you Dr. Zaius!" Very well done. You really built on a good thing and did it well!

I had to wing it with this one, 'cus the version I downloaded didn't even have verses, just a bunch of talking. I think it was some weird mix, even tho' it was cridited to Falco. I actually saw the original "Beneath the Planet of the Apes" when it came out at the theatre! :-O

(ABC) The image of Dr. Zaius the ape wearing a Mozart-style white wig and frilly, lacey, silk waistcoat....LOL!

There are two general versions of Rock Me Amadaeus; maybe you found the version that has a very American voice listing the important dates of Mozart's life...the other version is the one with all of the verses from Falco (may he rest in peace)

Very good recap of the movie (without completely giving away the ending to anyone who might not have seen it).

(ABC)445. Pacing fell somewhere in the middle for me, but creative nonetheless.

I too had pacing problems, but Zaius was just begging for the Amadeus comparison wasn't it?

To quote "Alex Trebeck" on SNL's Celebrity Jeopardy: "I don't get it."
Likely this has to do with the fact that I neither know the original Planet of the Apes nor the mentioned Simpsons episode. Nor do I know the original song beyond the chorus, though I could go find it on the net.

Not bad. I'm not a big planet of the apes fan, but I at least saw the movie so I could follow it.

Didn't recognise the context enought to really commnet on this one too much...

Alas, I've never seen the original PotA (and regret seeing Tim Burton's remake), nor have I seen the Simpsons episode where they sing this chorus. So, basically, I suck, but this is fun nonetheless.

You made the best of both worlds with those songs: The OS and The Simpsons version of the song. Very good rewrite. I'll never forget that. Better yet, there should be a longer version of The Simpsons version of this song. Enjoyed it! 5's!

Watch Out Armadillos is on the It's A Goof compilation CD, along with some other good ones like Psycho Chicken.
