"Armadillo This Morning"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

An armadillo this morning,
A deer in San Antone.
Every critter that I've hit,
I've had my headlights on.
When the moon is high in that Texas sky,
The varmints just don't seem to care.
An armadillo this morning,
Last night I hit a bear.

I killed a puppy in Houston
And a cat in Santa Fe.
I mauled a snake and a possum
Somewhere along the way.
If a cow roams late here on highway 8,
It better hope that curve ain't blind.
An armadillo this morning,
Last year I plastered nine.

Armadillos take warning,
and you deer in San Antone.
Don't jump out at my pick-up,
No animal has won!
Stoppin' on a dime with this truck of mine
Is not my ability.
Armadillos take warning,
Or road kill you will be.

(SOTM) "Death Proof" as produced by PETA! This one made me LOL.

Who was it that said that he didn't get the job at National Geographic because he arrived late for the job interview after having run down a deer with his truck? Never mind. I accidentually read the last line of the first part as "last night I had a beer" but I guess that's a flock short to make sense had it even been right. God and original list parody! 555.

Sir, . . . can we wrap up this little armadillo fellow, and send him to Sir John & AirFarceWon ??? They're on a meat run!

For some reason when you hit all of the other animals, I don't have a problem with it, but when you say you hit a puppy... That really kills me. I don't know why, just some personal baggage here, not that I had a puppy killed by a reckless driver, but I'm Peta-esque when it comes to my puppy.

(SOTM-FEB08) Michael - You have the Texas culture truly pegged with this song. I have yet to snag an armadillo with my road machine but I see them dead along the roads all the time. Very strange little creatures - I've seen them roaming around on some of the ranches I've visited in Texas. Love this parody - well done!

And Matt - I know Michael personally and it would break his heart if he ever hit a puppy.

(SOTM) We don't have any armadillos up here in my neck of the woods, but plenty of other flattened critters do line our highways. As gross as it sounds, a pilot project was considered here a few years ago to collect fresh road kill and distribute it to the soup kitchens and food banks in our province. I don't remember if they ever enacted the program, but I do know that I don't have any plans to chow down there just in case. (I'll have the Pepe LePew stew with a side order of raccoon paws. And for dessert, I'll try the "Moose".) lol

(SOTM) Little bit short, but quite funny.

LMAO! Short, sweet and, strangely, more country than TOS. I hit a beagle last week. It was already dead though. I almost turned a squirrel into road pasta today, but at the last second it had a moment of clarity and realized it would lose a fight with a 3 ton truck traveling 30 mph.

(SOTM) Nice use of the OS. Decently funny considering its length.

This cracked me up. A great job of capturing the "flavor" of a country song.

SOTM- Aw, poor doggy and kitty. The rest I don't care about. Very funny and well done, Michael.
