The Lyrics
(Spoken prelude)
Geddy Lee: So, here we are in Hollywood. How do we correct the musical brainwashing of our country's neighbour to the south?
Neil Peart: Well, I was previously thinking about smashing the TV cameras whilst nobody's looking, but that wouldn't be subtle enough.
Alex Lifeson: How about breaking into the control room and defaming the producers and staff behind the scenes when they're taking a bathroom break--oh, wait a minute, that wouldn't work.
Lee: My idea was to use these tapes that I collected of some of our concerts (he shows the tapes to the other two) and mixing them up with the Solid Gold tapes next week.
Peart: That IS a kickass idea, Geddy!
(Music begins)
Stanza I.
Lifeson: When we're inside, we will soon find
Those losers who wreck songs.
We'll infiltrate beyond that gate
The show that's done much wrong.
We'll turn to lard those leotards
Whose bottom is a thong.
Here's to our quest that is the best
For the minds that we guard thereby.
I foresee a day when all is decayed
Unless we can do our task well.
Geddy, get your tapes; Neil, just crash the gate
Next week to get rid of this hell.
Refrain I.
All: Two minutes to seven
Is when we'll slay this piece of crap.
Two minutes to seven
Is when its ending will then hap.
Stanza II.
Peart: Have you the tapes to stop this ear rape
And infiltrate the show?
Good Geddy Lee, I'm asking thee
To deal the final blow.
If you will bear the tapes to there,
We'll be your bandmates ever
And all the record labels' greed
Will not our band ties sever.
The prize is at hand; pretty soon this band
Will be all praised as the great heroes
Of faith and of war and leadership galore
'Cos we'll reduce this crap to zero.
Refrain II.
All: Two minutes to seven,
The set we certainly will strike.
Two minutes to seven,
We'll be all loved and not just liked.
(Instrumental)
Stanza III.
Lee: We'll then use these (headbangers to please)
Like our song called "Xanadu."
I have good reason to believe some season
Of this show, they ripped it off too.
There's no excuse for this abuse
Condoned by Livvy Newton-John.
What ELO wrote had soon us smote
And they were always in the wrong.
Our revenge is nigh, we cannot be shy
And we must take action next week
Or this show's intact; that would be a fact
And the future for us turn bleak.
Refrain III.
All: Two minutes to seven,
The 23rd we'll make our move.
Two minutes to seven,
Thereafter there's nothing to prove.
Tag.
Seven, seven, seven, it's leaven.
Seven, seven, seven, no heaven.
