Parody Song Title:

"Sheboygan, Wisconsin"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Nibblin' on fruitcake
Watchin' the snowflakes
All of my neighbors shovelin' snow
Sittin' in my den, play my accordian
By the fire
With embers all aglow.

Shiverin' away in Sheboygan, Wisconsin
Goin' to the bar to have some schnapps
Folks fly away down south to Mi - am - ay
I'll stay home with Mom and Pop.

Yule is the reason
I stayed here all season
I know although it's twenty below
I have a real beauty
A Teutonic cutie - t'isn't Christmas
If we don't have snow.

Shiverin' away in Sheboygan, Wisconsin
Stockin' up on more bottles of schnapps
Folks start to whine,"There's no sunshine!"
I have my Fraulein and Mom and Pop.

You have your vacation
I have my tradition
Trimming the tree with the folks back home
Out watching the Packers
They're no party poopers
We're having too much fun to want to roam.

Shiverin' away in Sheboygan, Wisconsin
Drinking more schnapps to warm my toes
Keep your balmy breeze, I'd rather eat cheddar cheese
It isn't Christmas without snow.
Some people chill out in Margaritaville
I dream of Sheboygan in the snow.

I lived in Green Bay for awhile. Miss the Christmas snow... By a wonderful coincidence, the security code is "PAK"... Still cheer for them! (Go Pack Go!)

Hey man, this was great. However, I think TOS was actually made in the 70s. I still intend to give it a perfect 555 vote.

My fingertips turned blue just reading this! Polar opposite of the OS(which is a great thing for parody). Great job! Let's bring it up to at least 55.5 degrees

Thank you, Fiddlegirl, 59Eagle and Mark. I live in Burbank where it seldom snows so the last time I saw snow was in 1962.

Ironically, Buffet has an album entitled "License to Chill." Cool parody.

I'd take some of that chill right now. SA broke the record yesterday with 37 days of heat over 100 degrees. The previous record was set in 1998 with 36 days and it's only August 3rd. I love the winters here but ya gotta pay for 'em in the summer. You really have me beat. The last time I saw snow was in January 1985 - 16 inches in two snow falls and this was in San Antonio. First snow was three inches and the second was 13 inches. Total snow fall here since 1890 is 48 inches. 1/3 of it fell in two snowfalls within days of each other. I haven't seen any accumulative snow since. And thanks 2Eagle, just reading this cools me down some.

Thanks, John, Guy and MsMil. Temps are normal in Burbank, but they are getting three digit weather in Washington. Weird.

A real 'Teutonic cutie' 5'sEagle!

Badgers? We don't need no stinking badgers! lol Well done - Sheboygan is one of those names that trips lightly off the funny bone...like Cincinnati! ;D

Loved "Teutonic cutie", but too tortuous, torturous, and tortured trying to get the first refrain line to pace to the OS -- one of those cases where just counting syllables isn't enough. (Accent matters). DK how it could be done - maybe a different city and/or state? 455

nice "other side of the coin" parody

The cheese heads meet the parrot heads. Clever concept, 2Eagle, but I agree with TT on the pacing.

A nice town to speak of...Fun the way it rolls off the tongue

Thanks, TJC, Old Man, TT, alvin, John Jenkins and AFW. I found it easy to sing out loud. Learn to improvise. Rules are made to be broken. Just for that I will write another poo parody just for you.
TT - August 04, 2009 - Report this comment
I tried very hard to sing it out loud, and couldn't. Being a written medium, we can't hear your voice and the way you sing it, nor read your thoughts. Keep in mind your audience: readers, not listeners.

I love improvising and breaking rules (grammar, word order, etc.) but for the purpose of helping the pacing or making the song funnier without breaking it. I guess there could have been an explanation in the intro about how you paced it in your mind. Looking forward to the poo parody, as I generally do to all of yours.
