The Lyrics

A parody is like listening to a song reflected in a fairground mirror: sometimes strange, sometimes amusing but never quite what you expect...

If you don't know the original "Script for a Jester's Tear", buy the album (or download the MP3s and see why you have to buy the album). It is the best poetry in song you are ever likely to hear, and this is my tribute to one of the best songs of all time, as well as to my favourite website.
So here I am once more sending parodies to Amiright
One odd reflection, one more lyric in a parody, self-penned.
Yet another lyrical 'coaster ride, passing humour on the side
Too late to change the lyric, Too late to rewrite the song
I've pressed the "Process" button, now my parody is gone

Amusing in the words, amusing in the rhyming schemes
Amusing in the words, amusing in the rhyming schemes
To try too hard, too far to go
Too much to say, the song is over

Yet another lyrical 'coaster ride, count as countless consonants collide
Amusing but absurd, I'm using diff'rent rhyming schemes (rhyming schemes)
This song is over

Too late to change the lyric, Too late to rewrite the song
This song is over

I imitate the classic style
Of a lyricist with wit and guile
To plead a few votes for my song
To cite the site, where I belong
An eulogy to amiright
To exercise my right to write
I write what's born from twisted mind

I never could write a love song
The words just never seemed to flow
I wrote something funnier
So I'd drop it on ya
And examine your eyes for a positive reaction
And examine your eyes for a trace of any action
Promised lyric now a fake
Promised lyric now a fake
A fake

The artist leaving Amiright will look back to his browser and sigh
Shut down his computer and struggle to answer why
As you get up and leave the website
Where you sent your song and read their words
Remember the rest are getting votes
The call for a vote

So I'll take the piss forever as I set my words to rhyme
Making fun of music, only one song at a time
Stooping so low, is the game, I've gone so low in the game
But this song is over

Can you still say you're laughing
Can you still say you're laughing
Can you still say that you're laughing
Are you laughing?
The jest's in here...
