Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

A song about my (many) writer's blocks..and the use of mind-altering beverages for inspiration!
It's way past midnight, I've had eleven Millers in a row
I've eaten fried rice, tryin' to write a parody that flows
There's nothing there, no gems of inspiration in my cortex
The cupboard's bare, this effort surely ain't no cordon bleu
Hey, it'll do!

'Cause it is filler, filler right?
Don't give me too much grief cause I've been up most of the night
You know it's filler, not too bright
It ain't no Billy Shakespeare, it's a...silly... filler.... tonight!

What is the matter? I'm used to writing stuff that makes me smile
But I'm so shattered, not feeling very smart or versatile
I have a plan, I'll write down any s**t and just keep rhymin'
You understand that I'm not proud of it but what the hey...
It's almost day!

I like Ben Stiller, he's alright
He ain't no Bob DeNiro, but he's witty and he's bright
Then there's Glen Miller, big band guy
Both of them are famous: they are Stiller, Miller, alright!!

(Bridge)
I'm so embarrassed, so don't be too callous
Give me a break
There's no escaping the wrath of Pacholek this time
(I can still rhyme)
This is a victimless crime

They're out to get me, I'm either paranoid or very drunk
But I won't let me get too upset or in a moody funk
I'll try again, and now I'm drinkin' whisky I feel better
If it's inane, cut me a bit of slack and vote for me
Hey Johnny D!

Big green Godzilla, nasty bite
He's out there fighting Mothra, giving Japanese a fright
And Phyllis Diller, what a sight!
I think I've got it tight with Ol' Glen Miller, Diller, Stiller, 'Zilla
Amiright?

(Vincent Price enters, shaking his head)

Darkness falls so very deep
And Kristof Robertson's asleep
Dreaming of the praise he'll win
So deluded, full'o'gin
And when he wakes up, feeling rough
Remembers writing stupid stuff
Already posted, it's too late
He now awaits a gruesome fate
They'll prob'ly tear him limb from limb
So cocky...yah boo sucks to him
Like Cowell with bad PMT
They'll make him eat his parody
But he'll be back, that's what he does
Although he's wrecked his liver
We parodists cannot resist
Cause writing is a thrill-a !!!!

Hahahahahahahahahaha!

This stuff is killer! Not 'alright'
I must commend your pacing, and the humor's a delight!
It's like... Steve Miller! (Filler? Right!)
I'm desperate enough to just use
'Miller' filler, alright?

No need for self-deprecation. "Filler" starts with F-I, and so does five.

Hey Darling...great work! I feel your pain! I HATE writer's block and experience it more than I'd like to admit. This is awesome, though...=) 555!!!

Why thankyou, thankyou thankyou!! I tried to write one just about Ben Stiller...didn't work. Then I tried Godzilla...nope. Then hey! Why not write about not being able to write (again...i.e. "Round Log")? I really need to get out more....

(ABC05) With this and your recent "Mad Creation", you seem to have a knack for writing about the writing of parodies! (you are so po-mo!:))

(ABC) Disappointingly better than my parody of this song! I really enjoyed the non sequitur (did I use that right?) choruses, I wish more people would implement that.
Jeff Reuben - June 05, 2005 - Report this comment
