Song Parodies -> "Stupid Love Songs"

Original Song Title:

"Silly Love Songs"

Original Performer:

Paul McCartney and Wings

Parody Song Title:

"Stupid Love Songs"

Parody Written by:

Phil Alexander

The Lyrics

You'd think that people would have had enough of stupid love songs.
I look around me and I wish that it were so
I'd love to clear the whole sorry world of stupid love songs
Because they're crap
I think you know, 'cause there they go again

They're no good x4
I hate the way they use cliché - hackneyed, it's so hackneyed
Ah, it's such a bore and it's all boring me
It's so hackneyed

Because they're crap
It's true you know, and there they go again
They're no good x2

I wonder if I am missin'
Any depth of meaning at all
I only know that when I listen
They're all so stupid, they're oh so stupid, so very stupid oh, no

How can I tell you how bad these songs are?
How can I tell you how bad these songs are?

How can I tell you how bad these songs are?
(They're no good)
How can I tell you how bad these songs are?
(They're no good)

Repeat ad nauseam

Thanks.. I guess my other entry for today is a love song of sorts, though; though "Bed of Roses" isn't your usual sort of silly love song, the parody is a bit less, er, chivalric.

Phil--I've thought lately that love is a many-splintered thing

Rick, does that mean that the songs he wrote prior to 1962 werent silly love songs? lol...anyway, not all love songs are bad...only the sappy ones

Gee Billy. It's a joke. Pick a year. Anyway, you all know I'm a fan. Here's another. What did George give Patti Harrison? The Clapton! I know, not as funny now that he's gone.

Nice job proving that even a random "mediocre" Phil song is still superior to just about everything being submitted these days. Your problem is that people can read
