The Lyrics

I believe this is my official 1200th parody. And I'm barely on the top 10. Amazing journey it has been, feeling this camaraderie with online friends. (I have now officially met 7 people here, including the awesome Phil Alexander in England last year.) I hope we have a convention some day.
YOU CAN'T CALL ME AL

A girl walks in the room
She says "Why don't they say my name correctly
Why don't they say my name correctly
The folks in the Bronx get it right
I got a speaking opportunity
I was elected to congress
Don't want to end up on Fox News
In a Fox News hit piece
Latino, Latina
They always pick a fight
Far away that right-wing core
Laura Trump-pumper, Trump-pumper
Get those nuts away from me
You know I don't find that crap amusing anymore

If you try to say my name
I won't be your short-cut gal
You can say it's petty
Up-set me when you edit
You can't call me Al"

A girl walks in the house
She says "Why do I get this attention?
Got so dang much media attention
And wo, my name is quite long
Got my life and family
Want you to try here
Name is Al-ex-an-dri-a
Plus O-ca-si-o Cor-tez
Done! Done!
No cutting off syllables
Like some Sarah Sanders fat-faced girl
Always wrong, so wrong
There are incitements and excrements
There are crimes and allegations

If you try to say my name
I won't be your short-cut gal
You can say it's petty
Up-set me when you edit
You can't call me Al"
Never Al

A girl tries out a plan
It's a plan for a green world
Maybe our last hope
Maybe it's our last time around
She doesn't speak their language
She owes no lobbyists
She cannot drain the swamp
She is surrounded by a mound, a mound
Cattle with their flatulence
Obstacles and idiocy
She tries to sound, sound
And sees Satan in the Senate body
Sinning in insanity
She hears all men and "Can we screw ya?"

If you try to say my name
I won't be your short-cut gal
You can say it's petty
Up-set me when you edit
You can't call me Al"
No one shall.......

Very funny, Rick! Worth pointing out to all writers out there this parody neither condemns nor praises its subject (even though it condemns the "other side" of the fence), and that's what makes it fun.

Rick, Glad to be one of the 7. Camaraderie is history, but it was nice back then.

You're the champ, JAB. I moved to Washington, if you're ever up in the Great Northwet.
