The Lyrics

I looked right out of my window today
Saw a newsman filming a story 'bout a young man who had passed away;
Saw a sad mother hiding her daughter's eyes from a horrible sight:
Two lifeless souls laying prone on the ground in the black of night

All this crime,
God only knows,
Endlessly, through the seams

Two police came 'round my house tonight,
One black, one white, representing "Ceasar's finest"
(Or to find the bloody knife)
One to search, one to preach which way the case could go;
Probing and hoping to place somebody up on Death Row,

All this crime, (God only knows)
Endlessly, through the seams;
All this crime, and so it goes
If I had my way, I'd take a tip from the "river",
And I'd bury the "old hat", I'd bury it, indeed

"Blessed are the 'po', for they shall wreck the earth"
"Better to be 'po' than be a black guy with a college degree"
As these words were spoken I swear I heard the lawyer laughing,
"What good is that piece of paper and how come you're not laughing?"

All this crime, and so it goes
Endlessly, through the seams,
All this crime, (God only knows)
Maybe if "justice" exists, she probably will get raped here...

Yea, yea, yea;
Yea, yea, yea;
Yea, yea, yea

Parents taught us that the law (man) was your friend,
But they built a wall and an image
At the edge of nearby insanity town,
They lived and they thrived, they played with the "gods",
Yet, the DA would not make a sound,
So the umpire fumbled and all that was left were a bunch of macho clowns...

All this crime, God only knows
It's just fog and lights blotting out the sun...
If I had my way, I'd set fire to the "river"
So angry and frustrated, It's a wonder so many people come undone...

So undone...
So undone...
Undone...

I looked all across my yearbook today,
Saw faces of some people I have known and have passed away;
Saw childhood smiles from another world in a faded light,
Released and gone on into the black of the night...

Creepy lyrics. An unusual song I don't think I have seen parodied here before. Sounds like you have some familiarity with what passes for a "justice" system these days. Is this song based on any particular real-life crime? I like to see people take on some of the less commonly known original songs.
