The Lyrics

Please don't be offended if I trash one of your favorite artists, it's all for satire...
My radio is making some annoying noise,
Some lame-ass crap called N'Sync and Backstreet Boys
And this Alanis sure has a very whiny voice (oh, no)

I just can't see what all this country hype's about
Or 50 cent, Kelly Clarkson or No Doubt
And I don't really care who let the damn dogs out
(Oh no) I hate that hip-hop (Oh no) I wish it would stop

Idiots fill the radio now, idiots fill the radio now
Usher, Pink and Alicia Keys (Oh, no, no, no, no)

There's Sheryl Crow, Avril Lavigne and Britney Spears
That Celine Dion can be torture to your ears
And trash like Eminem just brings me right to tears
(Oh no) Marilyn Manson (Oh no) and crud like Hanson

Idiots fill the radio now, idiots fill the radio now
Spice Girls, Creed and Christina
Whitney, Nelly and Jessica
Oh, nononono, oh, nononono

Idiots fill the radio now, idiots fill the radio now
Mariah, Shaggy and J-Lo suck
Destiny's Child makes me chuck
So does Puff Daddy and Kid Rock
And who asked for New Kids On The Block?

They're on the radio now, they're on the radio now
Idiots fill the radio now, idiots fill the radio now
Idiots fill the radio now, idiots fill the radio now

Very clever how you managed to include those "artist"s names and made them rhyme so well. Brilliant 555
Agrimorfee - July 07, 2005 - Report this comment
Very clever, in the spirit of Weird Al's "Achy Breaky Song". 555
Red Ant - July 07, 2005 - Report this comment
So very very true Mikey.
John Barry - July 07, 2005 - Report this comment
Excellent, in the tradition of Weird Al's take on "Achy Breaky Heart." 5s.
MasonR - July 07, 2005 - Report this comment
I can't think of a single artist named above who I would consider "favorite." In fact, they're all pretty bland. This parody isn't, though! 555

The sentiment of the title was a five, but I like several of those performers. The irony is that Kelly Clarkson, who played Brenda Lee on "American Dreams," would've been a C-lister in Little Miss Dynamite's time, but is an A-lister now. Whereas Jessica Simpson would've been little more than a "Hee Haw Girl."
Big G - July 07, 2005 - Report this comment
Can't say I disagree I wish we did have some bands that sang about things other than chillin in the club or baby come back. We need to bring back the Eagles .
Michael Pacholek - July 07, 2005 - Report this comment
We have brought back the Eagles. Remember? "Hell Freezes Over." Or, as Henley put it in "Get Over It," "I'd like to take your inner child and kick its little ass."

beautifully done, Mikey! - I L'd OL at "And I don't really care who let the damn dogs out" - 555

The music's over. There's no time on MTV... The music's over, unless it's by N'Sync or me... The video-o-o-o-s had to go... Sorry bro... They had to go.
Claude Prez - July 07, 2005 - Report this comment
This is great

Muchos Grassy-Ass and humble thanks to D.A.K., Agrimorfee, Red Ant, John, MasonR, Michael, Big G, Stuart, Mark and the Prez. I wasn't sure if I wanted to submit this, figuring I would piss off New Kids fans or something (yea right). But I'm glad I updated it with recent bands (I originally wrote it in 2000) and put it here for your twisted pleasure. Perhaps I should submit my original?? Mmmperhaps...

Super stuff, Mikey - very good concept, very well executed. And I wholeheartedly agree with the basic premise, too :-)
Michael Pacholek - July 08, 2005 - Report this comment
Squirrel: Don't worry about pissing off New Kids fans. They've moved on to something more mature. Like Easy Bake Ovens.
K.Y.L.E - July 31, 2005 - Report this comment
It?s a good parody, but TOS was out in 1979.
Mikey Squirrel - August 27, 2005 - Report this comment
Actually the Buggles' version came out in 1980. But that didn't obviously stop you from plaguerizing this parody, KYLE. I know you'll probably immaturely argue whatever you feel, but I'll just choose to ignore you. Don't ever steal my work again.

The editor for the Nonsensical Lyrics page (Jeff Reuben) says it was out in 1979. http://www.amiright.com/real/nonartist/buggles.shtml
