Mikey Squirrel is the cutesy alter-ego name for parodist Mike Gilliland, who, at a young age, had developed a knack for satire when he altered lyrics for many harmless nursery rhymes. His parents, seeing how disturbed he was, decided not to encourage this 'silly' behavior and just wanted to have a normal son. Well, it didn't work.
Mike had found inspiration through a publication called MAD magazine and his dad's National Lampoon collection. Throughout school, he had found himself many times in trouble when he kept altering the images in his textbooks and changing the names of the teachers. He had often traded his lunches for Wacky Packages stickers.
After hearing Weird Al Yankovich singing "My Bologna", Mike knew what he must do - eat a bologna sandwich. While eating this particular sandwich, he then decided that maybe he can parody songs too. Since then, Mike had continuously drove people crazy by altering lyrics of many popular songs, until he realized that it wasn't getting him any chicks.
Now married, Mikey decided to create his alter-ego Mikey Squirrel to be the alias of his parody writing so if anyone thought he was a little too crazy, he can blame the squirrel. Since then he created his parody website, Squirrelbait, where he can share all his madness with a bunch of faceless strangers over the internet. In May of 2005 he started submitting his work to AmIRight, where his ego could be stroked or deflated by other parodists.
And that's about it... sort of...
May the farce be with you.
