The Lyrics

Well, my first foray into the Moody Blues works...this is a wonderful OS...and I was surprised it had never been used on the site yet...I'll let my piece do the rest of my talking for me...
[Dramatic intro - synthesizer music - leading into regular type intro]

Didn't you learn back at school
about this thing, "The Golden Rule"
and just when did you decide
that it was just some corny line?

Oh, think about it, my friend
Oh, man, how we need it
Oh, yeah, think we need it again
let's try it...

When did we trade "Heart" for "Schemes"?
Surrender to "Desire" and "Greed"
Count our lives up like some sum
Will it have meaning when it is done?

Oh, think about it, my friend
Oh, man, do not fear it
Oh, oh, take it back from them
Your Life
Your Life

The folks that are calling the shots here now
Are using your fears to keep you in doubt

They appeal to fear; a folly
Want to scare you so you obey

They count on your buying
distractions that hide their actions
their power they do abuse

You should find this galling
It should be appalling to you

Look down on us
do not doubt
don't trust these weasels
decline to bow

Then demand of those who lead
that they address
our Nation's needs

Oh, ain't it time now, my friend?
Get up; no more kneeling
Come on, say you want them again...
Your "Rights"...
Your "Rights"...

[Instrumental break - with guitar solo]

Oh, man, no more time to pretend
It's now time for healing
In time we'll expel all of them; in time
(but) what time?

Do you see the world as it is today?
You can't help but think that there's a better way
These folks harm our children's future
Can be fixed, but we must act fast

the anger is swelling
it's welled-up; beyond the usual places...
the resentment is coming through

The people are calling
the days of "Stone-walling" are through

This time 'round we must be smart
Must use our heads as well as hearts
When the next election comes
We must do better than this current bum

Next time 'round is crucial, my friends
Reject these Extremists
Take our country back once again, this time

Must not let this kind win again
Need one who can heal us
There's still time before the die is cast
must act fast...

We sure need a leader, again

One who could heal us and set things right....

[Instrumental to fade]

Well! You discovered the Moody Blues finally. They seem to let you discover your own feelings about a subject, huh? Of course, I don't exactly agree with some of what you said. but I think this is a wonderful parody anyway. Top rate! 5's

Tommy T - Thanks!...and...YES...there will be still more "Moody Blues" spewing forth from the corner of the parody-writing universe....actually, I moseyed over this way to pop one in the toaster for tomorrow's entries...very possibly more this week, too...Red, Thanks again! Loved working with these pieces ~ ~ ~
