Parody Song Title:

"This Food's Yucky"

Parody Written by:

Paul Robinson

The Lyrics

another Tom Petty OS
[instrumental intro]

What did you make me today?
Hope it is something good to eat
What you put on my plate
Phew! I think this is tainted meat

You know
It blows
It resembles

"Poo" from that pup you kept outside
True, didn't that pup up and die?
Killed that puppy, babe
Put him in his grave
With your bad food

[instrumental break]
[lyrics in {brackets} sung to lead guitar notes here]
{It'sawful stuffleaves my stom-achaching}

Food that you serve makes me heave
My stomach turns; should toss it away
What you cook I can't eat
A mistake to eat what's on my plate

I moan
Then groan
Then I said, "Dear

this freaking grub does not taste right
Gag when I chew; spit out each bite
It tastes yucky, babe
Looks like puppy waste
It looks like "poo' "

[longer instrumental break]
[sing {bracketed} lyrics during instrumental to lead guitar notes]
{Itlooks like "poo"it sure doit looks like dog "doo"}
{Itsure tastes screwedwhat'd yah dodid yah feed me dog food?}

It's so
Awful
I won't eat, dear

It's awful stuff; on it – won't dine
Tastes like it came from a dog's behind
This stuff's yucky, babe
I won't eat today
Won't eat this goo

[long instrumentals out to end fade]
[bracketed lyrics sung to lead guitar notes out to end fade]

{Iwill not eatthis bad foodit tasteslike dog food}
{Andworse than thatit smellslike a dog's "poo"}
{Mise---rable fareit tastejust like gruel}
{Some---one who eatsthis crapis a fool}
{Wheredid you get.this fromtoilet stool?}
{Realawful farewon't eat thisit stinks, P.U.}
{Ithink this junksmells just likea cesspool}

Yuck! This parody appeared right after I had my lunch! Anyway another great parody from you. I liked the last verse at the end. 555s for you as always. Very good indeed

DKTOS, but the verses were fine, if yukky.

Jason & Pat - Thanks! Yes, this was a "Yucky" parody...not recommended as lunchtime (or breakfast or dinner or snack) reading material, though...lol...Jason, I looked at your Author's Page list - I'm fairly familiar with slightly less than 1/2 the OS songs you use. If you have any specific parody ideas you want to have me look at you can use the "Messageboard" section and send me a PM about it. Can' t promise immediate response, but I will take a look and get back to you. Thanks - pr

the OS is yucky , but you've spiced it up and made it palatable

Hi Paul, Thanks for your response! Im having problems registering on the message board as it won't send me the activation email. But anyway, this parody of yours did make me feel queasy after lunch! Anyway with reference to you looking at my Author's page, one idea I have is if you was to look at "Engine Malfunction", which is my parody of Abracadabra - Steve Miller Band. Is there any tips on making a decent parody, because I do find myself getting stuck sometimes when writing one. Anyway if you want to get back to me you can email me on: diamond_iceman2002@yahoo.co.uk

alvin, Jason & TJC - Thanks! Jason - OK, I know that song. I've copied down your e-mail and will make a copy of your piece...I'll take a look at it and play the song (think I have it on a "Greatest Hits" CD of Steve Miller's) later at home and see what it might spiff it up a little.

I can picture the video now - Tom Petty singing this in the foreground, while in the backgroud, Paul's wife pushes him off the Vasquez Rocks.... ;-D

Mer - HAR! Good thing I'm not married, eh? I like the video imagery, though...I thought you were gonna say something about the puppy stuff..but I think that's more my "area of expertise"...lol...Thanks!
