Aw, boo hoo hoo, you didn't deserve to win anyway. Portugal ran all over you from the start to the finish, you have only yourselves to blame, you scored a fortunate goal on three minutes and you sat on it for the rest of the game. The commentator couldn't believe how you just flooded the box and spoiled portugal the entire game. You only came out and played after portugal equalized. Not only that, but the goal decision wasn't exactly clear-cut. John Terry had a hand on Ricardos shoulder. Also, the ref wasn't exactly a 'homer.' He denied portugal some free kicks too. Also, the referees decision didn't eliminate you. You still had extra time and penalties. You lost because Beckham and Vassall couldn't score penalties. Bottom line: You are not in the semi-finaqls because you don't deserve to be.
You might not like the way England played (I wasn't too happy with it myself), but however deep England defended, the Portuguese still couldn't score, even with the help of the referee. And according to the ref, it wasn't Terry on Ricardo which caused the goal to be disallowed (as there is no way at all that was a foul), but earlier pushing by Sol Campbell... which wasn't visible on the replay, either. The linesman got it right.
Missed the game, so I can't comment on that. The title of this song caught my eye, and I liked that...good song idea.

The whole event costs millions of (insert your own currency here) and yet they can´t put up ice-hockey type cameras a´ a few thousands to sort out goal/not goal situations? Why? Hmm... maybe having correct winners in all the championship matches would take the fun out of the game? :-)
Actually, I like soccer, but this type of championships means less and less to me. Maybe I´m a hardcore capitalist, maybe I´m a hardcore anti-nationalist/fascist, but the older I get the less I see a point in players being expected to play in teams based on administrative taxation areas (that means "nations" for those whos hypertension just rose to the level where it killed of a few thousand braincells). ;-)
