The Lyrics

In a friendly competition with Syncronos, we humbly submit this parody about the weapons inspections in Iraq :)
I have combed the royal palace
I have looked through oil fields
Looked in some sand dunes too
Looked in some sand dunes too

I found guns
Some outlawed
Iraqis won't return my calls
Return my calls
Or else they'd all be screwed

So I still haven't found what I'm looking for
So I still haven't found what I'm looking for

Missiles with empty tips
We can't account for the bioweaps
Saddam's a liar
Anthrax he desires

I have spoke with the UN Council
They still think Iraq's on the level
This inspection's a blight
Let's send in the drones

And I still haven't found what I'm looking for
And I still haven't found what I'm looking for

I believe that the day will come
When the Iraqis blunder and slip up
Blunder and slip up
And then we'll come running

You broke the laws and you
Shot down planes
Papers were "lost"
Oh for shame
Oh for shame
Well we don't believe it

So I still haven't found what I'm looking for...(fade)

This almost seemed "neutral" to me. Maybe I've been reading too many far right/left political parodies on the site lately. Anyway, good job.

(ABCs) Meh, I've read other political parodies that have been funnier and the title remained the same, which is always frownable in my books unless new meaning is created through your parody ie. 'Beat It'. Good rhyming and I do believe it is the first time I've seen the phrase 'bioweaps'. 5-4-4

abc -- Nice take on the topic and an excellent song choice! I'll have to remember to look through Synchronos' list to read his, too. I did a take on this topic to Terry Jacks' Seasons in the Sun awhile back, if you're ever thumbing through the authors list, maybe give it a looksee.

Well done - it's hard to believe this parody is more than a year old.

(ABC) A bit dated now (dare we say 'ooops!'), but the dune line was very funny when listening along with the original!

It does seem a little 'middle'-ish, but that's not a bad thing. Good parody overall.

Thanx, RC & WD, for clarifying what the original was REALLY about. Seems perfectly tailored for W, doesn't it? Nice job.
