The Lyrics

This one is about the way that people nowadays are so shallow they judge others simply by their tastes in music. A serious parody, told (hopefully) with humour...
Does he play bass, they wanna know
What does he like, rock, pop or soul?
(He likes Eminem)
My god, he's just a sheep
(And that Fergie femme)
Who, from The Black Eyed Peas?
If we're gonna know
Then he's gotta show
If he's a kid
(That's what he is, oh yeah)

(But he likes Sugababes)
My god, the boy is blind
(And he hates Green Day)
Then he's a waste of time
If he won't tell then
He can go to hell
Is he a kid?
(That's what he is)
Woah, we're not all chumps
(That's what we're not)

Wo-o-oah he liked
That ginger Spice
And that Nelly Furtado
If he's cool
Then we'll let him in
But 'til he gives in

(How about McFly?)
No, no, they're all so gay
If he wants in, then just tell him, say
That if he wants to go
Then we have to know
If he's a kid
(That's what he is)
Woah, is he a kid?
(That's what he is)

Wo-o-oah Busted
And Girls Aloud
Are bands that I don't wanna know
If he's gay, if he really is
He'll say he's a kid

(How's Daniel Bedingfield?)
My god, get out my face
If he's no gimp, then why does he say
That these bands are cool
But he's just a fool
A foolish kid
(That's what he is)
Woah, he's just a kid
(That's what he is)
Oh yeah, an ugly chimp
(That's what he is)
Ooh, he's such a kid
(That's what he is)
(repeat until fade)

There will always be people who judge others on irrelevant criteria. Sometimes these people grow up, sometimes they don't. Hey, wait a minute... you like Sugababes? Man are you worthless. (Just kidding.)

I'm surprised this parody is getting as positive a response as it is, personally i don't think its one of my best as I think its rushed and in some places it sux. Hey, did I just review my OWN parody?!?!?!?!

This parody makes an excellent point.

Thanks Kat. I based it around the fact that in my school, all the other years just automatically class all the sixth formers as 'gay' because they all listen to rawk and not rave

Well, interesting stab at Pop music. Thing is, it's alright to like it when you're young, and when you're middle ages and hoping to be "cool", but when you get to late teens/young adult, most people develop their tastes more. This leads to social categories: for example, Dance/RnB/Rap = Chav, while Rock/Garage/Death Metal = Greebo. Personally, Alanis Morissette is a goddess, and anyone who even tries to make dance music should be locked up. Anyways, there's a parody here. Doesn't seem rushed, despite your protest. Excellent pacing and brilliant laugh. 5-5-5.

Thanx Blethar. Greebo?! And the chavs I know listen to rave. Oh well, thank you again!..
Blethar - May 23, 2005 - Report this comment
Greebo = Also known as "Greeb", "Sweaty Greb", with spin-offs like "Indy" and "Mosher". Like rock music and sworn enemy to the Chav. Wear hoodies dedicated to bands such as Nirvana. I would have thought if you'd seen Chavs you'd seen Greeboes; it's like black and white. On the Rave point, I would usually class Rave as Dance for simplicity, but I see your point.

Oh, you mean Sweaties! Yeh, they and chavs hate each other! The main difference is that Sweaties are cool, chavs try too hard and are ultimately dicks
Blethar - June 08, 2005 - Report this comment
Sweaties?...Strangest name I've heard ever. But yeah, I guess they're what we call Grebo/Greebo/Greb - at least you know how to spell the name you gave them!
Dumb Ass Kid - July 09, 2005 - Report this comment
Yeah, derives from the fact that most skaters around the area look as though they don't wash their hair, and therefore are sweatie, hence the name sweaties
