The Lyrics

Not a big Garth fan, but every time I hear this song, something like this version crosses my mind.
It was one nasty joke
The depth gauge was broke
I went in a little too deep
I was looking for gold
Boy, that water was cold
Should'a looked before I took that leap

Then I lost track of time
I ignored all the signs
That I'd been down way too long
When I came to the top
I thought I might pop
And I knew that something was wrong

Now I got "bends" from low places
I came up and found
NO2 laces my blood today
But I'll be okay
I'm in pressure now to reduce bubbles
In my body now or I'd be in trouble
Yes I got "bends" from low places

Boy, it was so rough
This SCUBA thing's tough
I've dived since I started to swim
Yes, my hobby's been sound
And I haven't yet drowned
Though a few times my mind has gone dim

But I'm glad I'm alive
After that little dive
I can't wait to go in there once more
For I love to be wet
With my camera and net
Until I wash up on the shore

Now I got "bends" from low places
I came up and found
NO2 laces my blood today
But I'll be okay
I'm in pressure now to reduce bubbles
In my body now or I'd be in trouble
Yes I got "bends" from low places

I didn't think this one was bad enough to deserve ones. Maybe it's a matter of rival gangs. Who's in my posse and who ain't?!!!

Maybe some people were confused by the repetition of the word "low."

Maybe it was the "Not a big Garth fan" comment; anyway don't look at me, fives here

Rick D - Not a Garth fan, either, and only very vaguely familiar with the song ( I've heard the title...that's what I know about it, in total), so I can't vote but I read it and it's pretty clever, a "4" or "5" there, no worse. So it had to be Mr. 1 & only. Looks like enough posse was around to make the numbers respectable. Me, I would write a parody back but I know that goes against your stated opposition to "inside"-type submissions. Whether it encourages/discourages him I wouldn't know, but I feel better when I do that and as long as I can write something on point & clever I feel it's a worthwhile contribution to the site. If it dragged me down into putting out something ugly or vulgar that would be different.
