The Lyrics

If nothing else...Facebook sometimes makes me feel good about where I am in my life.

Just the other night, typing in my Facebook name
A friend request popped up from my old high school flame
And as I browsed his profile I couldn’t quite believe
How the guy I had the hots for turned into such a dweeb

Doodles in class, would combine his name with mine
Unknowing in the future his NERD-iness would shine
And if I’d seen the future in my fantasies back then
I’d never put his name on M.A.S.H. again!

I have to applaud that Facebook is there
To show when I was younger, lacked a lot upstairs
‘Cause if I’m ever feeling lonely, wondering if “he” still cares
Facebook makes me thankful for unanswered prayers

I’d never guess in High School, back when he starred in all my dreams
That his ca-REER would hit a dead end, work-ING at Krispy Kreme
Back then we danced to Salt-N-Pepa
When we were driving to the mall
But now at night he likes to role-play as Darth Maul

And as I cruised his page, and took in his life
Right then and there I thanked the good Lord
That I am not his wife!

I have to applaud that my stupid prayers
Were IG-nored, and I’m grateful we’re no longer paired
‘Cause if I’d gotten all I prayed for, I’d be stuck with Pierre
Some of God’s greatest gifts…are unanswered…
I applaud when Facebook reveals to me those unanswered…
Some of God’s greatest gifts are unanswered prayers

I'm totally aware that my old high school flames might have this very same sentiment when they see MY Facebook profile. But who cares what they think? They are total dorks these days...haha.

Arwen - So true! One of my earliest parodies was about my former superior who tried to wreck my life wanting to FB Friend me. Really nice parody here. ;D

C'mon Arwen... Us nerds aren't that bad. I like the twist you took on this song. Fun stuff.

Where would Arwen be without fantasy-loving nerds? I don't know, but for darn sure she'd have a different "stage name" on this site!

OMR...thanks very much! I'll have to check your parody out!

Matty...you know I love you nerds. ; ) And not only because you nerds love me.

Mister Pacholek...you're absolutely right...I'd be lost without each and every fantasy-loving nerd I know. And I can't deny that it's an honor to count myself among them...=)
