The Lyrics

Two GnR parodies in a day... both of whTwo GnR parodies in a day... both of which have spent a while on the drawing board, 'tis true. And neither of them laugh-out-loud funny, either: especially this one. If anybody else out there knows someone who's been taken in by one of those somewhat (what's the word?) extreme cults in a time of depression, you'll know where this one's coming from.

...and before anyone points out the difference in the number of syllables in the title, the "cold November Rain" is what's been swapped out for the parody, but calling it "-sing with your Brain" would have been just plain stupid.
When I look behind your eyes
I can see there's nothing there
And since that cult has caught you, you
Got a pretty vacant stare
It's the weak and vulnerable
The types on whom they're preyin'
But they don't want to help you
They're messin' with your brain

You've been with them such a long long time
No wonder you're not sane
But followers will come, they never let 'em go
And nobody will get out if they get their way
So get away
Yeah, now you gotta try to say to 'em goodbye
Get 'em out of your head
Yes tell me you're gonna try
Gonna try
So if you want religion
First let me explain
Don't follow every saviour
They're messin' with your brain

Say you need some time...time to chew
Say you need some time...to think it through
Tell 'em that you need some time...off in lieu
Say you gotta take some time...what to do

I know it's hard to take this onboard, but
They ain't your friends, they're out to hurt you
But if you think how deeply you've been cut
When things go bad, know they'll desert you

So say you need some time...find out who
Say you need some time...you got the 'flu
Tell 'em that you need some time...ah.. ah-choo!
Say you gotta take some time...

If you look out from inside
Though it goes against the grain
You know that they can't force you
If you want to break that chain
So step out of the darkness
Know you can find a way
Wake up now and realize
They're messing with your brain

[Chant of a thousand different 'cults']:
When you think that you're down and lonely
When life ain't worth the fuss
Everybody needs somebody
Come on and join with us
Come on and join with us
(repeat with an eyewateringly beautiful guitar solo playing over the top)

Haha I would have given this 666 since cults are satanic anyway but you get 444 mostly good wish you could have been more specific though this could be any religion or kinda sounds like A.A.

I apologize for my own ignorance, as I just sang the parody you wrote to TOS and I should have rated it 555. Sorry Phil, because I try above above all else to get pacing first, because it doesn't really matter to me if the topic is sexual, non-PC, gross, depressing, if I cant sing whatever, and I get really pissed when anything gets rated less than a 4, because irregardless of the topic, if it doesn't pace close enought to TOS, its no good. To be completely honest with you, you did an outstanding job except the proper name is Guns N' Roses, but many people make the same mistake. To conclude another long winded post: I really dont care about either of our average scores or who is better, I've been doing parodies/alternate lyrics/my own music since I was 13, and just resumed again a few a few months ago, but I'm sure you've done alot more than me, so keep it up and please forgive a temporarily lazy GNR fan who didn't bother to SING the words to the song AT THE SAME TIME, which is how everyone should really rate a parody anyway. If you ever see this you can tell that by the length of this post I will go to any length to correct the smallest mistake. Maybe some can vote this 666 as I first suggested to balance out my 444. Have a nice day.

Thank you, Red Ant, I appreciate that: I'd far rather someone return to a parody and leave a thoughtful comment than simply vote 5s on it without reading it properly. I see you've just done a parod to "Estranged"... I've been racking my brains trying to remember how it goes, and for some reason that CD's missing from my Use Your Illusion box :-( I'll come back to that...
