Parody Song Title:

"Something In Orange"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Gotcha! If you checked this out because you're wondering what I can rhyme with "orange", the word doesn't appear in this parody. Several other colors do. Each verse is a different color and sung by a different character. A little offbeat even for me, but this has been fun to do. ;D

(Investor)
I'm looking for something in gold.
Currency's shaky or so I've been told.
Stocks and investments which once were secure
Now seem an option that weaker than poor.
It's time to be careful - no time to be bold.
I'm looking for something in gold.

(Environmentalist)
I'm looking for something that's green.
Something that's wholesome, non-toxic, and clean.
Energy that will not harm Mother Earth,
Some pure air and water as fresh as new birth,
And the sunshine bright beaming - so fair and pristine.
I'm looking for something that's green.

(Merchant)
I'm hoping to get in the black,
Clear out my warehouse and empty each rack.
For if I can't get my shop out of debt
I'll go belly up and that is a safe bet.
There's way too much regs! Get D.C. off my back!
I'm hoping to get in the black.

(Interior Decorator)
I'm looking for something chartreuse.
Plain red and green are just eyeball abuse.
Those basic colors all look like hell.
To make a real statement you must use pastel.
Do you want the decor of some old caboose?
I'm looking for something chartreuse.

(Aging "Ladies Man")
I'm looking to cover my gray,
For my mustache and hair makes it harder to "play".
Ladies won't touch me - I'm starting to pout.
Young girls are frightened - I'm creeping them out!
I wish I could go back - to my yesterday.
I'm looking to cover
Before they discover
Their "age thirty" lover is gray!

I love doing non-political parodies whenever possible. ;D

Very creative - sort of sums up what's right and wrong with the world - I see your "Ones" friend, also liked it - at least he gave you his top score

I remember the original quite well. I was working in a store with a radio tuned to a country music station. Every time they played this song, a customer would come in. Very nicely done, fits the feeling of the original, too.

organge and sore singe; oranger and porringer. Orange is an anagram of "rag one." You got a one raggin' on ya. Had me fooled; I was expecting a Boehner.

What a cool concept! The "Interior Decorator" stanza made me LOL, esp. the "eyeball abuse" and "old caboose" decor references. 555
